Solid numbere.
Candle's contract seems commensurate with what was previously done. Here is the ex-coach's contract after the December 2024 extension:You think so? My reaction was I thought half a million average was low but I wasn't sure if that was just the "official" state salary not including the usual booster fed extras that Coaches get.
Didn't we pay RE2.0 and Mora more than that?
Candle is getting paid over $2.5 million a year. RE2.0 and Mora started at $1 million a year. You think so? My reaction was I thought half a million average was low but I wasn't sure if that was just the "official" state salary not including the usual booster fed extras that Coaches get.

I also want Sammis to stay, but Candle was the playcaller at Toledo and that is a responsibility he apparently likes to have so I think a reunion may not make sense for either side at this time.I hope Sammis stays.
But I also respect Candle’s authority to make the call.
At end of the day the Coach is “on the hook” for whatever happens with the team, so by all means, make the changes you want.
But when you look at our offense, if I was Candle, I’d be like “okay your staying.”
That’s just me.
In a world where UConn makes the CFP, this contract is ripped up immediately and Candle would more than receive his due with the new terms. As an independent UConn would receive $4 million that it does not have to share with a conference for just making the CFP.given how big of a deal making the CFP is as a G6 or indy, I find the $150K figure to be a little laughable... i feel like making the playoff alone would be worthy of a hefty payday, closer to that 1M mark if not 1M even.... not exactly an incentive to get to the playoff.
it's so unlikely to happen, why not incentivize it.
makes sense. In a world where UConn makes the CFP, this contract is ripped up immediately and Candle would more than receive his due with the new terms. As an independent UConn would receive $4 million that it does not have to share with a conference for just making the CFP.
Would play two there to get one here in a heartbeat.Wonder if he can generate a series with Penn State
Nice insights from this podcast. I would expect to see Jason in the ProAm of the Traveler’s Championship next June.A must watch. Sounds like Coach Candle might need to join the TPC River Highlands
This guy Jordan Strack has nothing but praise for Jason Candle. What you see is what you get. HCJC seems exactly like what this program needs. No nonsense, all business, dedicated, loyal, grounded. He can recruit and use the portal and players stay loyal to him which is important. With 3 young kids, maybe he feels Connecticut is the place to raise his family. So many great public and private schools in this area. And if UConn does get a P4 invite, his is in exactly the right place and the right time as the head coach.
Had not even thought of that, I could see it!Wonder if he can generate a series with Penn State
FYI, this year is the last time participating teams get money to the CFP. Starting next year, all schools get a payout. We get a whole $360,000.In a world where UConn makes the CFP, this contract is ripped up immediately and Candle would more than receive his due with the new terms. As an independent UConn would receive $4 million that it does not have to share with a conference for just making the CFP.
considered by whom? bet nick freaking saban begs to differnot to be a stickler but I don't understand "generally been considered a step down." That statement seems to have no basis at all.
make gillette uconn’s home game and id take it. at least theres a chance for a 50/50 split on fans. Yankee and MetLife would be overwhelmingly PSUWould play two there to get one here in a heartbeat.
Click bait ?not to be a stickler but I don't understand "generally been considered a step down." That statement seems to have no basis at all.
