. . . Being from MD- think Cal Rypken. First genetics plays a role. Movements are rehearsed, repeatable. Use all senses to respond in the situation. Not chaotic. They say Joe DiMaggio looked like he never had to sweat or strain. Because he had everything figured out during his movements.

Yeah, I also figure out a lot during my "movements."

Way back in the day, players with injuries wore heavy knee braces, usually containing metal rods. Cleary, they don't wear them any more. But it seems to me Azzi needs a sturdier knee brace. Yes, I know I'm not a doctor, but I am a former athlete who suffered his share of knee injuries. I wonder what kind of knee protection Azzi is wearing, other than just padding.
In Azzi's first game back from her current injury, her entire leg was in a wrap. Go back to the St. John's game and have a look. The G'town game was different. In that game, only Azzi's knees were wrapped. I noticed it right away and thought "OK, she doesn't need as much support as she needed first game back. She must be ready for less restraint to give her better mobility."
But the knee knocking that injured her would not have benefitted from a simple wrap. The knee might have benefitted from some kind of padding to absorb direct hits to the injured area, though protection against every imaginable insult isn't possible, so you go out and take your chances.

Well I'm not a doctor like many on here, nor have a stayed at a Holiday Inn Express recently. But I suspect she will be perfectly fine and score 40 points against Seton Hall tomorrow night.
Whew! You sound optimistic. Some of your other posts recently have made you sound like the anti-Tony

I was thinking the same thing. I wore one of those braces for a month while recovering from a knee injury one season. The metal hinge rods on either side of the brace kept my knee from buckling inward or outward.

It also kept me from hyper-extending it. Once I got used to wearing it, I didn’t hamper or retard my running or jumping. I wore it the last month of the season.

I agree with you. Azzi might benefit from that type of knee brace. That was over 50 years ago, but I didn’t have any further problems with my knee while I had that brace on during practice sessions or games.
I remember Sean Elliot of U OF A, Tucson, playing effective as a Wildcat with his
big clunker of a brace. So... why not be careful?

It looked to me that her knee buckled, something a good brace might have prevented.
To my eyes "upon further review", there was a buckle. but we'll find out soon,
maybe tonight.

Doesn’t everyone’s knee buckle if someone knees you in the back of the knee? We used to do it on the school yard as little game.

Nice too see we have a lot of orthopedic surgeons in this thread ..
We have some of everything and everybody here, including orthopedic surgeons and other specialists. Nolefan, it is what it is. There’s no place like this place near this place, so this must be the place. That’s why the yard is so popular with WCBB fans across the country. The numbers speak for themselves.
