Bronny isn't getting picked to produce on a team. He's getting picked for marketing and maybe a dream that picking him will interest Lebron in playing for you

He was a highly ranked recruit and is a solid player, but his performance last year isn't why he's getting drafted this week. This isn't a secret and shouldn't be a surprise to anyone

It's the NBA. It's a business. No point arguing if he "deserves" it or not. It is what it is

I've seen people on Twitter argue he's a top 30 prospect on his own merits. Those people exist, somehow.

Don't know how many of you get the Athletic (it's part of your NYT sub if you get that). Vecenie just issued a 122 page draft guide. Players were ranked in several tiers, although there was no mock draft per se. Castle (3) and Clingan (4) made the top tier (High-leverage Starters), which only included five players (Sarr, Sheppard, Risacher the others). Next tier was "Starter/All-Star Tool Swings" (6-15), followed by "Rotation Players and Upside Swings" (16-28, Edey and Filipowski were in there). The last three tiers were "Second Round Guarantee Swings" (29-39, Cam Spencer included), "Priority Two-Ways" (40-54, Newton included), and finally "Two-ways, Stashes and Exhibit 10s" (55-75, where you'll find Bronny).

The only way to look at this is if his name wasn't Bronny James where would you rank him. Not in the top 200. He got bench minutes on a terrible team last year.
