They won by 16. Pretty impressive without Cronin there.

Cincy was a brainfart away from having wins over NC State, Nebraska and San Diego St.

They should never have lost that Nebraska game. Gave it away.

So...

Cincy has wins over San Diego State and @ N.C. State

SMU has a win @ Michigan (who won today)

Temple has a blowout win over Kansas

And UConn has a win over Dayton, in addition to hopefully Stanford and/or Florida

The conferences overall profile is still pretty bleak, but it's less disastrous now that some of the top teams have been able to string together some quality victories. Hopefully the committee will take into account the fact that SMU and Temple played the majority of their non-conference slate down major contributors. If UConn beats Stanford and Florida (a big if), the conference could get 3-4 bids if things break right.

That's 4 top 50 RPI wins…as an entire conference. There's no way to sugarcoat this league, it's flat out horrific this year.

I didn't attempt to, but there's no denying that things look better today than they did two or three weeks ago when the conference had a total of one top 50 RPI win.

League has 5 top 50 wins (still awful) but Michigan is not one of them.

That big kid cincy is bringing off the bench, deberry i believe, is an interesting player. Juco big, strong and with a very nice touch inside. He's inexperienced, but has some rare skills. If he continues to improve, he will be very tough to stop. He's got an nba like game inside.

I count 8 teams in the AAC that are in the hunt for postseason play, 4 with legit NCAA tournament hopes and another 4 with NIT hopes. From a depth perspective its a better league than last year and it should be much better next year when we should be 10 deep (UCF and USF have excellent recruiting classes and there are only a handful of contributing seniors in the league)

I think the teams in aac started off slow, trying to figure out new pieces since several lost a lot of key players. I'm hoping this league becomes very competitive and will be very strong, not because all teams are average but because they are very good

It's also very early. I would wait awhile before I tear the league down we are only scratching the surface after one third of the season. If anyone should no this it should be us. Maybe you will be right in the end but there's much evidence that shows strange things happen. Yogi. Berra. It's not over till it's over.

Agreed the conference situation looks a lot better than it did a few weeks ago. Don't forget we also played the majority of our non-conference down major contributors.

Any time a Cincy team shoots over 50% they are going to be tough. They are typically bricklayers trying to get into a 50's brawl. Having seen them we can get their offense to start way out with our defense if our guys come to play. Those games will be low scoring defensive duels, as will most.
