This kid went to mt son's HS when he was a freshman & at that time I spoke with him on a couple of occasions.
1 - He was (I imagine still is) a great kid. Very polite, well mannered.
2 - When I spoke with him about UConn basketball (Kemba's junior year but before the BE & NCAA tourney runs) he was very excited, loved Kemba and I imagine that if we were to have offered then he would have accepted on the spot. Keep in mind that with the level of his game at that time there is no way JC would have considered offering and if he did, this board would have erupted, claiming that JC had lost it.
3 - There were people 'handling' him who were always at odds with Trinity's staff, believing he warranted star treatment (the staff believed they were doing this kid a serious disservice and pulling him in too many directions). He was only playing a few minutes a game on an average at best HS squad and may not have warranted that much PT.
I hope for his sake (regardless of where he ends up) that those directing him have a more realistic view today than they had three years ago but if things have not changed I would wager that he will go to a school (PC) that will treat him as a top five recruit even though he is in reality a top 75 recruit.
