"His improvement in the last year has been dramatic," said one longtime NCAA Division I assistant coach. "Providence has done a really good job with him, but I think UConn is trying to make up some ground late."

This quote furthers my belief that UConn and PC will split Abu and Chukwu.

This kid went to mt son's HS when he was a freshman & at that time I spoke with him on a couple of occasions.

1 - He was (I imagine still is) a great kid. Very polite, well mannered.

2 - When I spoke with him about UConn basketball (Kemba's junior year but before the BE & NCAA tourney runs) he was very excited, loved Kemba and I imagine that if we were to have offered then he would have accepted on the spot. Keep in mind that with the level of his game at that time there is no way JC would have considered offering and if he did, this board would have erupted, claiming that JC had lost it.

3 - There were people 'handling' him who were always at odds with Trinity's staff, believing he warranted star treatment (the staff believed they were doing this kid a serious disservice and pulling him in too many directions). He was only playing a few minutes a game on an average at best HS squad and may not have warranted that much PT.

I hope for his sake (regardless of where he ends up) that those directing him have a more realistic view today than they had three years ago but if things have not changed I would wager that he will go to a school (PC) that will treat him as a top five recruit even though he is in reality a top 75 recruit.

I think that I am going to need a big fat shot of whiskey in my coffee if this " dead period "for news does not end soon.

The writer still expresses how private his recruiting is. Could be a good sign for us, maybe.

Wonder if playing some games at the Webster Bank Arena could work in his recruitment.

He'll be getting an invitation most likely. So hopefully by then we'll be ranked top 10 and have a giant aurora around the arena.

Not saying PC can out recruit you, but:

HoopDreamsMag.com@HoopDreamsmag 7m
PC Staff have @RealChrisWebber on speaker phone with Kaleb Joseph, Pascal Chukwu, Jared Terrell, Abdul Malik Abu, Wow

Note the Fab Five reference.

I'm sorry but the number 32, 44, 51, 58, and 76th ranked players on ESPN have got nothing on the Fab Five, and most likely wouldn't even be a top 3 recruiting class in the country.

Maybe to you, but in the minds of Kaleb Joseph, Pascal Chukwu, Jared Terrell, Abdul Malik Abu and Jalen Lindsey it may be a tempting idea.

Don't worry, I will leave it at that and not take this thread over.

It would be an EXCELLENT class for PC no doubt about it, but all of this stuff I'm seeing on Twitter about them possibly being the second Fab Five is getting a little out of hand.

I think Cooley typed up a script for Webber to read off of. I can hear him holding back the laughter right now.

That quote says it all. KO and UConn got off to a late start with recruits because of the apr handicap. Next year should be different if UConn does well this season.

No, that quote about the late start is because UConn wasn't recruiting Chukwu early on, he wasn't really any good so I don't blame them.

Getting people on campus is one thing. Having them commit is on a different level.

If I can list those who officially visited uconn and didn't commit:
CJ Leslie
B. Knight
Rodney Purvis (before NCST)
Doron Lamb
Josh Selby
Kevin Durant
Xavier Rathan-Mayes
Chris Obepka
Etc.
