Like many of you, I too get frustrated with a few players on our team. I have finally concluded that it is what it's going to be going forward. I think it's time, me included, that we all stop "beating a dead horse". Let's learn to enjoy the positive things they do in the game and not dwell on the negatives.

Clarification question @jaundicedeye not meant as criticism regarding this " it is never OK to be so harsh in criticizing these young female players". Am I to assume form this that you would find some of the criticism to be more acceptable if the same criticism were directed at the UCONN male players?
Good question, Coco. Being fair I would have to say equal treatment and respect is deserved for male players, as well, but I feel so much more protective for the females. I admit that I might be inclined to be less outraged if it were not about our girls.

To a degree I agree with you but in the past and most recently I have read posts announcing with certainty that some players are "busts" and "useless". I contend that if one's life is so hard and its frustrations are so numerous that they try venting in other ways. Whether it be this Board or a like forum it is never OK to be so harsh in criticizing these young female players. In our own circles, we choose to avoid such negative people.
And believe me, my attitude has nothing to do with being politically correct (as I certainly am not) nor namby-pamby. If you were to meet me you would know that that is not who I am.
Since this is what you were referring to, then I agree with you 100%. Sometimes it's difficult to interpret, since we all come from different 'walks of life'. :)

Thanks very much for that very candid answer. As you may or may not know I was blessed with two amazing daughters. To be equally candid, I believe I'm similarly inclined-to be more protective of them in life and in general because they are "my girls". When it comes to basketball though this inclination annoys them greatly.

I really thought after last year CW would be the star of the team..possible AA..instead she has regressed..I'll throw out last nights game because she was sick.but too many games she has reminded me of Charde Houston..immense talent who at times was unstoppable but only showed it periodically.Geno tried everything he could to get the most out of her but could never really do it..is it going to be the same with CW? Everyone says Geno helps players reach their full potential but sometimes I guess it just doesn't work..I feel Williams should be able to take over any game like she did last year at ND..instead her shot has been off this year for the most part and even has trouble making lay ups..it would sure be nice to se her up her game once the dance starts but I have my doubts
Who knew she was sick? I will say this; her shooting is dead terrible. And she had many "open" shots that weren't even close ( including air ball from the corner). She missed two critical free throws, and she committed numerous unforced errors, resulting in turnovers. For a junior, and former HS POY, this is head scratching. She is only reliable using her speed, strength and athleticism driving to the basket. And against SC, that is nearly impossible. So I give her props for the 6 points she did tally underneath. But she was a non factor otherwise.

It's more than a couple of bad days.
