Christian Vital Earns AAC Rookie of Week Honors

I'm honestly shocked it's not Jarron Cumberland. He averaged 20.5 ppg on 65% shooting, 57% from 3, 3.5 rpg, 2 apg and 2 spg, one of which was against #24 Xavier. CV had a great week, but Cumberland deserved the award this week.

Wow at the beginning of the season many of us expected AG to be racking up multiple ROW awards. What a pleasant surprise to see his replacement garnering such recognition!

Could it be John Gwynn redux (next season)?

CONGRATS CV
Hopefully this is only the first of many many more honors
UConn has won the last 3 ROTWs!!!!!

Cumberland will win ROY and Vance will make first team if he keeps playing well. If Vital has a few more good games we could be looking at them both on first team.

What if we can get TWO guys onto the AAC All-Freshman team, that would be such a huge boost, essentially like signing a top 25 kid in this coming class with the added experience and growth VJ and CV are getting this season. Both are growing up so quickly, and lately I'd say CV has sped up his development more than VJ while it was reverse in the early season. Once CV's 3pt shot started falling in the ECU game I think it was where he went 5-6 from deep, he has been a completely different player. You can see how much more confident he is becoming.

That dudes a freshman? Already looks like a Cincy 24 yr old junior.

I was in Cincy last week and sat down near the floor for the Xavier game as the Company has great seats. Not a good place to be trying to take a charge from this kid. A very cool customer for a freshman. Tough thing about him is he can shoot from well beyond the 3 point line, and when he puts the ball on the floor everyone get the hell out of the way for obvious reasons.
