My problem with Geno getting T'd up, is the teams reaction to it. They don't seem to respond in a positive way, they seem to back off instead of putting the hammere down...

The master at getting T's or getting tossed to fire his team up was the legendary Red Auerbach.

First, when he wanted to "work the officials," he would avoid the traditional bitching about bad calls, knowing that NBA refs can shrug that stuff off. Instead he would needle them about not hustling, dogging it, being lazy or out of position. They would seethe at their professionalism being challenged.

Second (and I have it on DVD), Red was wont to explain that "Almost every game when I got tossed, we were losing, but then the team [he had no assistant coach] went on to win most of them. They weren't trying to win one for 'Dear Old Red,' they wanted to show they really didn't need me on the bench to pull the game out."

Genius.
