I just don't like those who enjoy stirring the pot after a tough loss. That's what I see you doing. You know darn well that assistant coaches hold back head coaches after technicals all the time. It happens all the time in both the men's and women's games. Chris Dailey has done it very few times this year, probably about 5 times, and no time was more deserving of Geno going off than the call tonight. Yet, with so much to talk about after this game you decide to bring up this issue in a way that seems designed to provoke a response.

It's just funny. Because the chance that CD could hold Geno back if he was minded not to be held is zilch. RU fans have joked about it for years (I suppose mostly because - in general - RU fans like Chris Daily.

I've seen it posted on a lot of boards for years and sincerely doubt it has anything to do with liking Chris Dailey. It's talked about by those who dislike Geno and dislike UConn. It's not as if Chris is doing something other assistants haven't done for years. It was brought up on this board to provoke a negative response, period.

There's a story that goes back some years (as will become obvious) about Geno wanting to go after the official in a situation -after the game, he said something like "well, I knew I could get past Chris -she's skinny. I knew I could get past Tonya - she's small. But, I knew I wasn't going to get past Jamelle."

is getting old... just saying
I do not understand. What would you like to see happen? Do you not agree that Geno had a right to be displeased with the call? To me, he had every right to be upset.

CD's sole premise behind holding him back last night is she as sure as heck did NOT want to have to coach that team should he have gotten tossed like Brenda Frese did at Duke, especially that early on. Though in hindsight, I actually wouldn't have minded seeing Chris Dailey lead that team last night vs. Notre Dame.

good point... when was the last time she ran the team? maybe she would have put Stokes in the game

it keeps the board interesting... or else everyone would be trying to "one-up" one another

Gosh, it's been years since he was actually tossed -- well, at least that I can remember. Last I checked, CD still had a "perfect" head coaching record -- but that could be incorrect if he has been tossed and I don't recall -- but the times she lead the team in Big East Tournaments and a few other games, she was still 8-0 !

My problem with Geno getting T'd up, is the teams reaction to it. They don't seem to respond in a positive way, they seem to back off instead of putting the hammere down...

Shenandoah... that's because we've been told that its suppose to "fire-up" a team. Who knows what the outcome of a T would be.

So that means he shouldn't get fired up after a horrible call? Coaches need to send a message that they have their players' backs. Geno did that last night. If his players don't react well to that then that's on them. Most competitors like it when their coach shows he's willing to fight for them.

When was the last time Geno got a Technical? I think it was the Stanford game. How was the reaction not positive in that game?
