But in the end. If you look beyond the numbers. The story of the season is the guy we built around. The guy who could inject winning into our veins has been pretty awful. That’s our season. Solo improved. Stew improved. Hass, outside the recent stretch stepped up. Liam is a stud. There is one major thing that is leading this team to under perform. AK.
I think HD was a little gimpy towards end of game. He didn’t look 100%

I wanna see this lineup when Diarra is sitting instead:
Liam / Ball / Stew / Alex / Reed

If we need the D then Ross instead of Stew
I think Diara needs to sit out some games, that sore knee of his is is clearly effecting his offense and defense.

Has any past UConn team had as many shot clock violations as this year's team?
If you add the multiple crappy shots with time running off the clock it’s absolutely out of control.

It's bad enough that players (AK, LM) are losing confidence in themselves which is causing them to pass on open looks from 3, but teammates are also losing confidence in them and do not pass them the ball when they are wide open. Watch the shot clock violation by Liam. He had open players, but decided (correctly IMO...sadly) to try to take on the defenders alone because there simply was no other viable scoring option.

When UConn was pressing their advantage they were taking everything off the backboard and running; it negated St. John's ability to expose UConn's point guard weakness. After a few stupid turnovers, you can see Hurley say, "Slow ... down." Doing that allowed St. Johns defense to grind down Diarra and anyone else trying to set up a semblance of an offense.

Tarris has a physical advantage over most centers and it seems to me that the system should look more like the Sanogo version - inside out - versus last year's. You may jump to "Reed is no Sanogo" refrain, but it may be better than what is occurring now.
