If you were an AD sitting near the bench and your head BB coach was calling referees "a clown" what would you do? Postgame. That is not a good look for your university or what you would expect from your Head Coach. I am done with pissed off Dan Hurley. It is hurting our team. How about the old Calhoun "call it both ways" and leave it at that and coach your team.
Sanogo takes too long to get a shot off. It gives opponents time to mob him.
Clingan should start. He cleans up on the boards.
2 games in a row opposing coach lookins are saying to stop Hawkins. They do not fear Sanogo. He misses too many layups and they are good with that. And they have shut Hawk down.
Free throw shooting. If we had 35 shots how many do we make? 20? Hurley needs to get this fixed. Having players knock into each other and get stitches in practice is nice but to win close games we need to hit free throws way better than we have.
Need to figure out how to use DC and AS together and best score the ball. Other coaches would be using this lineup.
Newton being a scoring threat is the key to all our other starters. He seems to drift and defer most of the time. A couple second half 3's were as off as the students trying to win contests during timeouts at Gampel. No idea how his deep shot is so inconsistent after that first half performance in Oregon.
Running Springs out to give Karaban a rest and defend Hopkins and keep others from getting called for a foul should have been tried but DH gets stuck.
Agree with a lot of what you say and the things we need to do on our end. Play Adama and Donovan together 12 -18 minutes a game and maybe more if we game plan to make it work.
I like Karaban but he’s the guy who got abused the last three games and many of these fouls stem from that.
I don’t agree with you on Adama. He gets fouled nearly every touch in the paint and it is not called.
We also shoot fouls at 74% but it has been going down in recent games from upper 70’s because we have no volume to get in the flow early on.

Our guards/wings need to recognize when Clingan has a mismatch. They are often working hard to get the ball to Sanogo, but Donavan has a much larger advantage in the paint...and he doesn't have to dribble once or twice to execute an offensive move. Joey's generally looking, but I'm not seeing it from the others (Hurley?).

Maybe we should risk more turnovers with passes into Donavan trading those turnovers for 2 or 3 points.

Karaban winds up trying to defend a driver from the side and gets called for the foul. So he has to overplay the right hand which would seem to be job one or get quicker and not worry about his man throwing up an outside jumper. Don't let them drive. This also applies to Jacksons defense as he gets beat off the dribble and tries to play catch up. Adama waits too long to shoot IMO. He also needs to use the glass more when he is on either side of the hoop. Is he getting bodied? Yes but Hurley needs to point out we are getting bodied and no call and UConn is getting called for fouls on defense for the same thing and move on. Plus Adama needs to rebound better.

I agree with you on Adama when he takes too long and then the double team comes. Today there was no double team they just left Kalkbrenner out there on the FS1 island and Adama showed him why you need to double him. If you will notice no one made themselves available for Adama to pass. That has to change when there is a double

That’s a key point. We often bitch about him not passing out but too often, nobody moves to a position where he can get them the ball.
