If crap continues to hit the fan and state schools need to reassess I could easily see Cal dropping out of the rat race due to lack of support from state government. UCLA becomes the state's sole P5. Still have USC and Stanford as private schools in the P5.

Chud Diesel thinks that the Arizona schools are going to align with schools in Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa State and West Virginia, plus two small private schools and a tumbleweed college in west Texas, over California, a state that would be the 5th largest economy in the world if it was independent, because doing so would cause librul tears.

That is a stellar theory right there.
