The Sliders & Curveballs Podcast wants to rewrite history. A future episode in the works.

If you’d like to pick a UConn + a Pro game, go for it! Some of the better comments might be featured on a future show, heard by millions. Or thousands. Whose counting?

The UConn game would be Tate George keeping the ball inbounds and getting a steal to beat Duke and get the Huskies to the Final Four in 1990.

The pro game would be having either Wes Welker make a somewhat difficult catch to likely defeat the Giants in the Super Bowl, or have Assante Samuel not have a game clinching interception go through his hands in that Super Bowl.

Nah, that UConn team never had it come tournament time. They were playing for themselves and it wasn't good basketball.
The ‘94 and ‘96 teams played a much better brand of ball and were more deserving of a chance to play the final Monday night imo.

ok. Then '86 Red Sox. Pull Buckner and the Sox would have won. Still feel sorry for the guy.
Schiraldi and Stanley were shaky bullpen pieces. Their roles in the collapse are underrated. Stapleton absolutely should have been playing 1B, but I believe the Mets had already tied the score when Buckner misplayed the ball. That team needed a dominant ninth inning guy, and never added one.

'People forget the score was tied. Had Buckner made the out it would have gone to the 11th.

I honestly don't think that UConn team beats Florida. We had a lot of talent but roster construction sucked. No ball-handling which meant too much Craig Austrie.

My first thought was Donyell not bricking those free throws.

As a Friar fan, it was the game Marvin Barnes got hurt in the Final Four when we were blowing out Memphis.
For UConn, I was at the Duke game in NJ to get to the Final Four. Felt bad for Chris Smith that day.

Talking with my neighbors, several UConn games come up, but the Semis vs Mich ST isn’t mentioned often. How did you like our chances vs Carolina without Dyson? Or, do I simply just change the game that Dyson got hurt?

Wouldn't change any of Uconns games. Too afraid that would change the future negatively in some butterfly effect.
Yeah - if you win 6 Championships in 25 years, you shouldn't upset the basketball gods by trying to alter history - or the future.

Selfishly the UNC-UConn game in Greensboro in 98 regional final. Senior year in Storrs and it would have been sweet to have been to FF that year. Next year, turned
Out pretty well. But the 90 game and laettner shot bricking would be a fine alternative.

Change the 24-3 loss to Cincy in football in 2007. If we win that game, we go into the last game of the year 10-1 playing WVU in a de-facto CFP semifinal.
