CFP Rankings

I don't think they will... I think if Notre Dame is getting pushed out it's for Texas' or Alabama's (if they lose the SEC title game and BYU somehow beats Texas Tech) benefit.
I’m just saying expect chaos.

If that happens expect Miami to get the last at-large spot at the expense of Notre Dame.
I can't imagine them leaving ND out, no matter what. If they weren't named Notre Dame I could definitely see it, but they just get treated differently.

I don’t see Miami lapping Notre Dame, for whatever reason

The doomsday scenario:
Duke wins (2 G5 teams?)
Byu wins
Bama loses

So you’ll be picking three of:
Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Bama, notre dame, Miami, Texas, vandy

BYU alone winning would make it crazy. Texas Tech wouldn't drop out, so which team would get the boot? And even if Alabama loses I feel like the committee wouldn't want to dump them. For some reason I feel like the committee would have no problem playing the "no coach" card against Ole Miss if it comes to it.

I guess you’d have to see that reflected in tomorrow’s standings, right? Can’t have ole miss 7 tomorrow and 11 next week

Bama wins and in, so think they’d just pick Notre Dame and pretend there was deep discussion about it

But having to potentially choose between bama and Notre dame? That’s what it’s all about

I think Bama playing in their conference championships will give them the edge.

They also had a stronger schedule and better wins

Bama and ND get in. That's how I'm calling it

The four P4 champions should be auto-bids just like NCAA basketball. No politics. You win, you're in.

Then they should pick the next best 8 teams. If Duke steals the auto-bid it upsets the bubble. If you don't like it, don't be on the bubble.

That is the most fun and it gives Cinderella a ticket to the ball. I mean isn't eveyone sick of Alabama at this point.

While the concept of not penalizing a team for playing in its conference championship seems fair, I don't think the committee can ignore Alabama getting completely steamrolled. That was an embarrassing showing that should take them out of consideration IMHO.

If you lose 3 games, one to a 5-7 team, you don't get to complain if you're left out. Whining about losing a CCG, doesn't work unless you aren't dropping OSU, BYU, or UVA, who all lost and are going to be dropped in the rankings.

If you lose head to head to the team which your being compared and have no real quality wins, you don't get to complain if you're left out.

Miami has the fewest warts, but because the ACC screwed up by having a tiebreaker worthy of 1985 the entite conference could get left out completely, I won't shed a single tear.

The correct answer is Miami and ND for the last two spots, but it could easily be Miami and Alabama because ND has no friends and the SEC sticks together, and I wouldn't shed a single tear.

Bama and ND is the only travesty here.

-3 rush yards in that game.

OSU, BYU, UVA, will be dropped in the rankings, why is Bama untouchable? Just because it has the biggest consequence?

Even if you discount the yards lost to sacks (-28), you end up with 10 rushes for 25 yards. Longest run from scrimmage was 5 yards. That's pathetic.

I think Notre Dame and Alabama beat Miami. Both are much bigger draws than the Hurricanes. And at the end of the day this is a made for tv event. If there were no tv there would be no cfp

If that's the reasoning, then it's a fair system, but I think the committee will favor the SEC.

Note that they bumped Bama up a spot in the rankings. I think this was to give them a cushion should they lose in the conference game, which they did, so the drop still left them ahead of Miami which could not rise in rankings since they had no game

You mean other than not making the CCG of a league that has 8-5 Duke as its champion?

The Csnes have 2 losses in a crummy conference. No one seems to mention that.
The Canes did something Bama didn't - beat Florida State.

Bama's last few games have been less than inspiring, but it's Bama, so ....
