CFP Rankings/AP Poll & USA Today/Amway Coaches Polls

I'd imagine that beating USF (a T25 team) and then beating Memphis in the title game would bring them close to top 4. UCFs got their two strongest opponents left. I don't think theyll get top 4, but they'll be darn close. If they'd played and beaten GT I think they'd be in
Did they really look like a top team in the county when we played them? They will get wrecked in whatever they do this postseason

My Totally Subjective Top Ten:

1. Clemson
2. Wisconsin
3. Auburn
4. Oklahoma
5. Alabama
6. Georgia
7. Ohio State
8. UCF
9. Penn State
10. USC
10. Miami (tie)

With the extremely unlikely possibility of the top 4 losing or just the possibility that 2 of 4 lose in their CCG. Despite the fact they come in at #4 Oklahoma is probably the team no one wants to play.

First, I love that your top 10 contains 11 teams. ;) It illustrates just how nonsensical having a 4-team playoff really is. Especially since your 11th team still has a realistic chance of making the playoffs if they can beat Clemson in the ACC championship game.

At minimum, the playoffs should be 8 teams. At minimum, the conference champions of the "P5" along with the highest ranked team in the "G5", and any undefeated team should automatically be in the playoffs. If the committee thinks that the undefeated team is not that good, well then let the #1 team play against them in the brackets.

This solves all the problems out there and we find out where some folks really stack up...

8 teams would be best, but it will take time for these people to realize that. Right now it seems pretty easy to project who is getting into the playoffs. The SEC and ACC winners are going to be in, if Oklahoma and Wisconsin win, they are going to be in. The only wild card in this thing is going to be how the committee views Alabama. Is their one loss season that didn't even result in them playing for their conference title good enough to get them in? I don't think so, but sometimes you just never know with these things.

I think most people prefer 8. There are these pesky things called contracts.

They are holding onto the expansion from 4 to 8 to replace other television revenue when it starts to sink.

That's gotta be a typo - WEST Virginia, not Virginia. ?

Not that the mountaineers are much better, but no sane person could vote for the Cavs.

I stand corrected since I see someone voted for FLORIDA.

Neither VA nor FL received votes last week. Both lost.

WTF? These guys should be stripped of their votes.

I think that's Florida Atlantic, not Florida. As for Virginia, I got nothing. 3 losses in a row, albeit to mostly ranked teams.

Badgers with 1st place votes! I don't get it, but they are undefeated - some people are old school that way.

So I'm wondering who goes if Wisconsin Oklahoma and Auburn win, but Miami and Georgia both win. Could the SEC end up on the outside? Could Georgia be in over Miami and a 1 loss Clemson? Miami ostensibly has the better win over #1 Clemson but a worse loss than Georgia. 2 ACC teams and probably 2 SEC teams fighting over 1 spot and even worse if Wisconsin were to lose as well. I doubt Miami and Georgia win but some close games would be fun to see.

I get confused reading this. You have Auburn winning and Georgia winning, that's not possible as they play each other. The most likely playoff scenario has the SEC and ACC champs getting in, and Oklahoma and Wisconsin getting in if they win. The wild card seems to be Alabama and what happens if Ohio State should win. Does a one loss Alabama that didn't play for their league title get in over a two loss, but conference champ Ohio State? I'm not sure how the committee decides that one.

If Wisconsin and Oklahoma win it’s pretty simple. The ACC and SEC games are playoff games.

If Clemson has only 1 loss than Miami lost and they are forgotten.

We're going to need a good showing this bowl season. Last year set us back.

1999 FSU squad won the national title with 1 team in the ACC ending the season ranked (GT, #17). It's all messed up.

The biggest disrespect here is how in the world is @USFFootball not in the #CFP Top 25?! They have a heck of a FB team. The American is much stronger than what tonight's ranking indicates. It's about the present & the future, not the past!

Man you cant tell me the college football playoff rankings aint bias. How is UCF 11-0 ranked #14 in the but all these 1 lose and 2 lose teams ranked higher. You can argue strenght of schedule and stuff but 11-0 is 11-0 you are what ya record says you are!! #Highwayrobbery

When only 3% of the 130 FBS teams get an opportunity to play in the @CFBPlayoff, one would think the system is broken. When you win your division or win the conference title and don’t get an opportunity, it is time to revamp the system!

It's simply inexcusable for any 2 loss team to sit above an undefeated team in FBS. No way Auburn should be in the top 4. Yes, they beat Bama, but also lost twice. As for UCF, it's a total screw job.

They are behind Stanford. That is pretty funny.
