Warrior611,

For the first few Ollie years, yes you are correct (with a couple minor errors), but your assessment of the last couple of seasons (especially how far we had fallen) is far from accurate.

Please, revisit the last AAC men's basketball tournament game we ever played and then try to claim we hadn't reached the depths that many (including Hurley) claim we had.

Did you stop watching after the NC game of the Ollie era
No but a lot of people seem to have forgotten the year this happened.

2016, we made it to the 2nd round. Ollie was fired 2 years later. He had a lot more good years than bad.

* Edit - meant to write last tournament game under Ollie.

I agree we were very bad. I blame that more on injuries and transfers than straight up bad coaching though. We had 7-8 dressed guys altogether at some points. Half the battle of getting back to where we were was just being healthy and retaining players.

The new conference definitely helped create buzz for recruiting too. It was not a hard rebuild as some make it out to be. ALL of Ollie’s guys have played well since. Every single one went on to win a conference award.

Sophomore year Boatright and Deandre Daniels were better than senior year Jalen Adams?

Do you remember DDs freshman year? Or how good JA was? They were both very guard heavy teams with virtually no bigs. Except Ollie was working with Phil Nolan and Hurley was working with Josh Carlton.

Attached are refreshers. They really weren’t all that different.

DD didn't get any playing time his freshman year because our roster was stacked. As a Sophomore, he was really good. You can debate whether or not he was better than senior Jalen Adams, who was a disappointment later in his career, but even if you want to say Adams was better I don't see how you can possibly make the case that Hurley was left with anywhere close to the same talent as Ollie.
