No surprise, 4th year experienced big. Credit Hurley though for making him a hungry Husky.

Sanogo may appear to be better but some games require experience over talent. Carlton came in and knew what needed to be done and did it. Wasn't scared, intimidated or confused, that's a Senior.

He really petered out in the second half. I pegged him in the chat room pre-game for a double double. He couldn't get over the hump and ended up with 9 points and 11 boards. 1-4 on FT's. He makes one more FT and he gets that double double.

He petered out? What?

We needed every minute he played.

He had 8 and 8 at halftime. I went out on a limb and called him for a double double before tipoff. He had a chance to validate my prediction. Makes his FT's and I'm Nostrafuckingdamus.

Carlton has always seemed to come up big in the more important games. Good for him, needed every one of his points and rebounds tonight.

Carlton didn't try to do too much and actually had his head up when he had the ball down low. Whaley was great, but if Carlton can compliment him like this, it'll be big for the team.

Hopefully, it was also push Sanogo in practice and help him develop faster.

It's great that Josh stepped up when his number was called. OTOH, Polley had a rough one. But that's a strength of this team, we've got options when Plan A isn't working. We looked like a well coached team out there.

I said it last week after the DNP, Carlton is extremely valuable to this team. I’m glad he stepped up tonight and I hope it continues throughout the season. He could have easily left the program or sulked on the bench and stopper caring. He’s vocal on when he’s on the bench and he plays his heart out when he’s on the floor. He’s definition of UConn basketball. Might not the be the flashiest player but Has proven multiple times to get the job done when needed.

Unreal performance by Josh after not seeing the court vs Hartford. You have to admire his attitude -- how many college athletes (or even pros) would pout after a DNP and let it carry on to the next game? A true professional in Josh.

C'mon if Hurley gave Josh 25 minutes against Hartford or CCSU he would have had a double-doubles. Hurley used the minutes to give valuable experience to Sanogo and other newcomers. Hurley knows what he has n Josh and you saw it tonight against real opposition.

You'd rather have him chuck some nonsense that he might able to rebound (11 boards tonight) than take the sho clock violation, obviously.
Of course

That's not my point. You can't tell me some guys would have issues being healthy scratches?

on that last josh play, he was 57 feet off the floor when he grabbed the rock (diamond?), right under the lights. i know, cuz i counted. yup, 57 feet exactly.
