Any recommendations or limitations for the power packs you can use to jump start vehicles?

Besides the obvious looking at Watts for output power, does anyone have these? Almost everyone I see has a few USB-C or USB-A outlets. Some have flashlights or strobe lights. Some even have built-in air compressors to inflate a tire.

I'm curious how long they hold their charge between charges.

I've always been the traditional jumper cable kind of person, but the power packs have the huge advantage of not needing a second car or battery to jump start yourself.
 
I race on the weekends in the summer. I always have one in my race trailer. Definitely a good item to invest in. One of my sponsors is a local Snap-On dealer. That particular one the charge seems to last the longest.
 
My car battery died over the winter literally the day before I had an appointment with the dealership to get the battery replaced, you can't make this stuff up, anyways I took my dad's car to AutoZone and got a 500 amp booster pack and it worked perfectly fine. For reference I have a Toyota RAV4

Noco are the bougie brand and DO work very well. Bang for your buck? I went with Gooloo. You're paying for the name with Noco.

I've used my gooloo down to -15 degrees, on big diesel engines, probably 5x on my old beater car before charging. Works great.

My Dad has had a Stanley jumpstarter for about 10 years. Still works. However, the battery is replaceable. I think Home Depot sells them.

I’ve lived in Florida so long that I’ve just become proactive replacing batteries. I replace batteries in all of our cars every 3 years and I avoid this problem entirely. Batteries don’t make it much longer in the heat.

The new monkey wrench in all of this is the accessory batteries in all of the new vehicles with start/stop. I just replaced the two batteries in my wife’s car. It was over $600. I’m not sure what happens when you jump a vehicle that has a dead accessory battery. I need to look into it. Many accessory batteries are located under seats etc. Anyway, keep in mind that accessory batteries are something to keep an eye on. Most people don’t even know their newer vehicle has one.

I bought one maybe 10 years ago and never needed it. One day, I was at a golf tournament and the guy parked next to me had a dead battery. We used it on his car and it worked great.

I think leaving it in your car through extremely hot and cold temperatures takes a toll on the battery so you need to inspect it every couple of months.
 
I bought a Buture 500 Amp from Amazon. It works pretty well and I have had it for at least five years. The only time it did not work was when my battery was completely dead since Florida heat takes a toll on car batteries. But even AAA's booster did not work and I had to replace my battery. It also works well for charging your phone during any power outages.

My ex-father in law got me one many years ago and I thought it was the lamest gift ever. Then I had to use it and it was indispensable to my existence as my car slowly died. He also bought me a head lamp for Christmas and I thought it was equally dumb. I now own a couple bc they were used so often. Dude was still a scumbag though.

Noco also makes great trickle chargers that I’ve used for years when you go away for extended periods for your car battery. I wonder if the boost charger is as good as what triple A uses to start cars?

They using lithium-ion battery packs like the rest of us. Just no need to use the portable small ones.
 
we received the Halo Bolt as a gift. Did use it once to jump start and it worked fine. Can also use it to charge your phones or power other electronics. Seems to hold a charge a very long time because even if I forget to check it, it seems close to fully charged. And yes, this newer model can also inflate tires. I'm not familiar with the other ones which may be more powerful, but this is a fairly sleek design

I ended up going with the Schumacher 2500. I had a Schumacher battery charger I used on my boat engine for several years. I had a Volvo 5.7L Penta on my boat and the Schumacher never failed me.

My daughter has a GM 5.3L V8 and her boyfriend has a diesel for his GMC 2500HD truck so I got as much juice as I could.
