We will be the Vegas favorite to advance through Hartford. Depending on how we do in the games leading up to that event will determine our seed. So technically we are still playing for something leading up to this event.

I know college basketball very well and follow it religiously. If I didn't believe it I wouldn't say it...of course I watched the game.

"Deserving" is all relative. Who cares... is Illinois State deserving if they win the MVC Tournament ect ect...? IF Northern Iowa makes the tournament I hope they land in the 8/9 game in Kentucky's region. Jacobson's "system" will probably spring the big upset. They may not get in depending on how they finish the season but that is a game I want to see. Northern Iowa would be a tough match up for any top seed this year. UNI is still a very vulnerable team though on several fronts.

Teams have made the jump quickly after playing in the NIT, the 2011 Uconn team as we all know, VCU played in the CBI in 2010, even UK played in the NIT a couple of years ago and they lost to Robert Morris in the 1st round.

I agree, but there are at least a dozen teams that don't make the NCAA tournament that were much better than those who did via automatic bids.
