We get more units as a conference for SMU and Cincy winning correct? which means more money for all? So we should cheer for them to go as deep as possible?

Was hoping this would be asking for clarification on the Hilton Unit. I would have been all over that.

Units is the first position after the decimal point. Then comes 10s, 100s, 1000s, 10,000s.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Which is why the NCAA selection committee's bias against this lil conference of ours is such a concern. Every bad seeding or every snub is a serious financial hit on the AAC and mo' money on the pile for the P5.

Who would've thought that the only one in the entire thread to not give me a troll answer would be Fishy?

An unit is worth certain amount of money each year. Every team, just by being in the NCAA, will earn an unit. Each time a team advances, more units are earned. Each time a team advances in the NCAA, it is earning money for the conference. This is why how many teams from each conference matter as well as seedings. Conferences divide up all the earnings by number of teams in the conference at end of the tournament. B12 with 7 in already earned more money than most conferences this year. ISU and Baylor out today hurt B12's future earning potentials.

A team can earn one unit for each game they play with a max. of 5 units per team. Each unit is worth approx. 1.5 M spread over 6 years.

Ask Bruce Jenner.
