Cal recruited neitherLiggins/Harellson
UConn coaching philosophy is the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. And, the UConn parts all fit nicely together.
Coach Cal and UK team need to figure out how to build a championship team and not just assemble the most top 10 or McD players. They get too many parts that don't work together.
When was the last time UK had a player like Niels Giffey or Lasan Kromah or any of our other great role/clutch players?

Coach Cal’s excuse for employing the Platoon system:
“Now, the question became, why would you have that many players where you felt you had to play everybody? Well, Willie, Alex and the twins decided to come back...”
Blame it all on college students who refused to drop out of college.
In fairness to Cal, it is just very tough to go through the tourney with freshman no matter how talented they are. It is likely that at some point they will play like freshman. This is why less talented but experienced mid majors with 4 year seniors can win some tournament games.
Kentucky is still the most appealing school for one and dones. They get a lot of publicity and exposure and for that you have to give Cal credit. The flip side is players of that talent level deserve a better coach.
