Just look at how much better both Bazz and Scoe played. Two glue guys, two Calhoun guys!

As great as Bazz plays at times, I think he was one of the reasons Pitt got it close. Needs to make better decisions.

Roscoe has been playing well for since before the Syracuse game.

Bazz played better. But he was pretty inefficient for a while, and took some poor shots.

That said, I do think he made a difference. After blowing the lead (again) they looked calmer (experience?) and didn't look like they got down on themselves like they did against Pitt.

What do you want to bet that the Roscoe charge would have been called a block if it were Blaney?

W. That's Calhoun's impact. Think this team with Blaney holding the reigns?

Calhoun seems to know how to mix the rotation well. Giffey does seem isolated. Only 4 minutes?

JC good for 4 points, and the fans another 2 and GB not coaching 3 more, there's your nine point margin.

Fairly even otherwise.

When he was in, he didn't do anything of worth. He had a wide open 3 he should have shot, but pass it up. He was squared and everything.

Well at least nobody can blame anything on Blaney today

This is a great point: Shabazz is the type of player that has some flashes of brilliance followed by some flashes of "WTF?!" in the same game. He reminds me of Jerome Dyson a lot; a player who seemingly can score at will or make a crazy no-look pass through three defenders, and then follow it up by missing an off-balance 3-point attempt with someone in his face 4 seconds into the shot clock. If we could just get the great Shabazz and leave the wacky Shabazz at home, I think this team would easily have 5 more wins this year...

As the clock ran out in a game in which he scored almost 20 points, bazz dribbled over to Calhoun and hugged him. I think that pretty much says it all about Calhouns impact on bazz.

And Uconn won the type of game they have lost under blaney all year. All Calhoun. Just his will

The calls down the stretch went our way. If Blaney is the coach they go Pitts way. ie the no call on Lamb and the charge that AO took. Both could have gone against Uconn.

Pitt came back, not because of Bazz. Drummond had some ill advised shots, Lamb had a few turnovers........Bazz has deserved some criticism in past games, but he was a major reason why we won today. If he plays with that aggression, we are a much harder team to beat!

They closed out the game with a win.

Let's see them beat PC and Louisville.

JC's return was a huge boost for the team and the fans. Hopefully, he will be able to coach in the BE tourney. The team's energy level was so much better and inspired. If KO is the coach in waiting, then he should coach the team if JC has any more health issues. This game proved the team has no respect for Blaney.

Can everyone please slow down with the "no respect for Blaney" craziness, please? He also coached the first three Big East games (Calhoun suspension) where he went 2-1. So therefore, he is 5-6 this year in Big East play. That means that Calhoun is 3-4, so both are one game below 0.500 (God forbid Pitt held on to their comeback today, otherwies people would be posting how Calhoun is an idiot too). Does it mean anything? No.

What I liked about this game is that you saw less players in the lineup, with less yanking people off the court when they made a mistake. I think that is the smartest thing Calhoun did today, along with calling timeouts at the appropriate time to break Pitt runs. When a team lacks confidence, you can't feed that by yanking them; you have to feed them by letting them play through it, and they did...

Just to add to my previous comment: Blaney was 3-5 over the last eight games before Calhoun came back. Two of the losses were to #2 Syracuse and one was to #8 Marquette. Losing three games to top 10 competition doesn't mean the team has lost respect for you. It just means that the team lost...

That's ridiculous - they like George and I'm sure respect the hell out the man, who wouldn't? I do agree with many on the way the game was officiated - helps the have the Big Man on the sideline glaring for sure!
