2026 Recruiting: Caden Pierce (Transfer) potential interest

Timberlake, Mahaney? Hurley holding onto someone that feels like an AK profile in waiting.
Timberlake didn't come here. If he had, he might have hit some timely threes and we win the title anyway. Absolutely no way to know, unless you want to count it as a "miss" for some reason.

This staff doesn't swing and miss on many targets and their actions speak louder than their words. There's a reason why they're interested in Pierce as a Program fit. Plenty of time to go to the portal after the season ends if CP lands somewhere else.
He's listed at 6'6 or 6'7 depending on the site. Not great size for a 4. His 3Pt % was 31, 34, 32 and his FT is 65,76,65....at his size, I would think he needs to be a MUCH better shooter unless he has top, top athletic ability and can get to rim at will.

Does seem like a strange target IMO, unless Dan Hurley is looking for a Karaban level IQ guy, regardless of the other stuff.

Newton, Spencer, Demary, Reed, Diarra, Smith, Joey C, Alleyne, Far more contributing players than misses. But none are Michigan or Zona caliber right?
Definitely nailed most of em. Hard to doubt the staff, don't get me wrong, just playing a little devils advocate with his profile specifically.

What I mean, a weird fit. Is it an emotional pick because AK is gone after 4 years? Only thing saying no is that a lot of other top programs are on him.

Hard to say. Not a lot of tape on him. My primary point is that there's a reason why staff is interested in him and why we're on his short list. Can't speculate on current roster players per Yard protocol but you can observe staff's apparent priorities based on their actions. Pierce portal news is somewhat out of cycle by virtue of the fact that it's happening mid-season.

There is very little in this tape that translates. It's a bunch of wide open cuts in the Ivy, or blow by Ivy guys. We know he shoots 32% from three. He's definitely more explosive than AK. Size wise, he looks in that 6'6" range. Interesting to see him playing with Lee. Looks like a plus athlete for the Ivy. Hard to know. Does play with tenacity, which is nice.

Agree. But who knows what their rosters look like

We need a starting SF. A big 6'7-6'8 do it all type of guy. I wonder what Jamier Jones is up to next season.
No question JJ has NBA talent. Looks like a guy who is ball dominant. Assuming he doesn't declare at end of year-Can you see him sharing the ball in our offensive schemes? Is he a me or we guy? Looked like he and Vaacks (sp?) were playing "keep away" ball(from each other) when they were on the floor vs us. Body language spoke volumes

When you lay out the roster like that, imo, we need to grab some big fish in the portal to be the type of championship-caliber team we want to be. That roster is lacking some impact players.

We know we'll bring in a 5 of some sort, I'd imagine a veteran PG, and then I'd hope for an impact 3 or 4.
Yes as said in my post another Mr. Smith (Malachi type pg) a big 5 and 4

I’m not 100% sold on Reibe starting next year yet some people think Stew is a lock lolol. The only 2 100% locks are Silas and Ball.

So we portal over Reibe? That'll be a hell of a grab. Not being a schmuck, but do you have a candidate(s)?

Not saying staff recruits over him but I expect they’ll bring in a C to challenge Reibe for PT like they did with Samson and Reed last year. I still think Reed was the better player.

He ain't leaving this year - not in this draft. No chance of going first round. Would make a killing in NIL I just wonder if Hurley would ever poach from another BE team, especially a RI team. I honestly don't think he would, under any circumstances. I do like JJ a lot. What will stink is that the entire PC team probably leaves for the SEC/B12 for NIL, and they're one of the only teams that actually have good young talent on the roster.

Reibe is definitely starting this year
Next year? I was 100% sold after noncon, 95-99% right now. I still expect he’ll be the starter. I was trying to make a point as it relates to Stew.

Yes as very little Rrezoning is not gonna be the #2 Center

I agree they'll bring in a very good C, but Reibe is 100% starting. He's the only guy I can say with 100% confidence is a starter next year

So you think Silas and Solo are league bound?

Love to just make stuff up and run with it.

@RuffRuff .Not dying on this hill. Not losing sleep over it. Just stating an opinion. You know who the Yard ping-pong players are. I'm not one of them. Just a casual tea leaf reader

Ross is growing on me and Stewart would be a great bench piece to play 20+ minutes. I think Ross could score in double digits this year, if he was taking as many shots as Solo.
Why besides a few 3s he has made what has he showed you to think that? Ross isn't a good offensive player and definitely not in Ball's orbit. I love how guys overreact on judging our guys when they make a couple shots.

Not a chance. Unless they want to see if they can go back end of second round as a flyer. They'll be back. Solo is shooting 29% from 3, and Silas could use another year in the system ala Newton. Both guys will role into next years lousy draft.
