That it was posted by him makes me think there's no chance. And Richard Kent is always wrong

It’s Richard Kent so grain of salt but interesting rumor nonetheless.
It's too bad that the path he's taking, which is in his best interest, hurts his all associated with his current program, the school and fanbase.Makes sense. Get Ivy league degree from Princeton then transfer to NIL and profit sharing friendly UConn with a year to play. Even if, it's a one year deal.
Bummer. Have no problem of a player taking advantage of the school. Ivies want to float there degree as a lure, then don’t get upset when a player games the system. It's too bad that the path he's taking, which is in his best interest, hurts his all associated with his current program, the school and fanbase.
Imagine how we would feel if this happened with our best player. Most of us would understand his choice, but would be bummed to lose our best player.
How about letting the coaching staff determine his basketball ability. If (and it is a big if) the staff is interested I would hate to have a prospect read derogatory comments such as yours.Caden Pierce is severely overrated. 11 ppg last year in the Ivy League 😂. If he was anything that arrogant Ivy folks truly think he is, Princeton would’ve done a better job giving Yale a run for their money the last two years. Let him go elsewhere, UConn doesn’t need him. He ain’t Bill Bradley for call crying out loud, and isn’t even close to Xaivian Lee, either.
Maybe we get him and that Wolf kid
He battled injury a bit last year. Had a grade 3 ankle sprain in December. But was a bit up and down even before that - although the ups included 21 and 14 in a win over Rutgers. How about letting the coaching staff determine his basketball ability. the Ivies were never in my wheelhouse so have zero knowledge. But don't most school's let you transfer credits toward your degree. so if you get 3/4 credits, that is where you graduate from. They are insinuating that if he left this past year, he wouldn't get the Princeton degree. because he did 1 year elsewhere. Unless it's a uniquely IVY thing, it seems weird. But this is more about red-shirting than the transfer portal.
Difference is that he's taking a red-shirt during Senior year, preserving eligibility. That has been that way since before I went to UConn and red-shirted my senior year (tennis) so yeah, I could have transferred after graduation but as an individual decision I went to work and played in some pro-am tourneys for extra bread early on.
But the extra year of eligibility is 100% on red-shirt; the transfer portal is just the pipe to transfer regardless.
