I think Paige was missing shots so that Aaliyah could grab the rebounds and put them back.
I want to see Aubrey dunk.

That play got the most enthusiastic reaction from UConn’s bench, and I strongly suspect that Jamelle was smiling broadly.Piath's spin move to a lefthand layup--She will get meaningful minutes next year. Few on the board agree with me but there is too much talent and size there to be keep on the bench.
Good think Oranges are better.Boston can’t run the floor like Edwards, but Edwards can’t block shots like Boston. One is a classic PF while the other is a classic center. Apples and Oranges.

Kudos to Butler for a gutsy game!!
Passing and shooting practice. The defense was so so. Marquette will be a better test. Paige is a great passer and fun to watch. It gets contagious. Aaliyah and Nika are gaining more confidence. Evina needs to score makes us more dangerous.
This Butler team's three-point shooting is for real. It wasn't a couple of lucky shots. They shot lights-out all night from three. Impressive!
Yeh, what was that about?Wish the SNY crew asked Geno about the technical in the post-game
No way when you say freshman. Brink may be starting at Stanford but Aaliyah is performing better in my opinion. So here’s a question for the BY. Is there another freshman PF in the country playing any better than Aaliyah right now?
Aaliyah Edwards had an Aliyah Boston type game today.
Brink is a pure C, so she doesn’t count as a PF.No way when you say freshman. Brink may be starting at Stanford but Aaliyah is performing better in my opinion.
Don't disagree but Brink is really good. Not as strong as Aaliyah but really skilled nevertheless. No way when you say freshman. Brink may be starting at Stanford but Aaliyah is performing better in my opinion.
Actually, I think she played way better than Boston usually plays. Edwards is far more versatile, very fast down the court, and is infinitely better integrated in the team's offense than is Boston. I read that Edwards was a track star in high school. Not sure what event she did, but her runs down the court are truly impressive.
At the very least, national all freshman team. But she should be in the conversation for AA. This year!!
I agree. You won't see Boston race down the floor and follow up those shots like AE does. Boston lumbers down the floor.
No one in the post-game press conference asked about it, so we'll never know.Yeh, what was that about?
Boston played well few years ago in the USA team. I just think that SC doesnt put her play in the right way. Maybe SC gives more attention to their PG/SG and diminish Boston's role.
This is AE best game by far so if "right now" means within the last couple of games then I agree that there are no freshman forwards playing better. However over the course of a season Brink who is not a center in the Stanford scheme (more (stretch 4), Cochran down at Louisville and Wesbeld at ND have at times during this season played better than AE.To me Brink is a finesse player and Boston is pure power. AE has both in her game.
I’m not picky, I’ll take those stats every game from those three!!It is AE and Paige's day.
Paige double-double 20 pts 14 asts, AE also double-double 24 pts 14 rebs, ONO 11 pts, Evina 16 pts, CW 12 pts, very even scores.

Don’t like the sound of that.Mir not on bench tonight. Must not have traveled with team.
Let’s not churn that rumor mill...Mir not on bench tonight. Must not have traveled with team.
To their credit Butler passed well, opening up slivers in the uconn defense, sufficient for the first-half, 3-point deluge. For Paige the volume shots were there but not the efficiency. Guess you can't break records and be efficient at the same time. Aaliya was a beast. 3 point defense disappeared.
I think next season Aubrey will have bring her A-game on offense with scoring. Next season she will have to defend her place in the rotation against Caroline (6'2"), Saylor (6'2") and Amari (6'5"). In high school Saylor and Caroline both had an inside and outside game. Amari may surprise and be more agressive than I tend to believe she is. Offensively Aubrey is one dimensional with just an inside game. Oops! Forgot about Piath. She is looking smooth in cleanup. She may make a big leap this off season. Mir is in the same boat as Aubrey. Where is the offense? Then there is the Fudd factor!Aubrey is contributing big-time, even with 0 points. It says to me that she is comfortable in her role. Maybe the scoring won't come until next year. I can't remember a time that the offense stopped when she got the ball. She can score in transition and put-backs.
I agree with all that! I'm really infatuated with this team. I just have this feeling that there is a chemistry with this team that will help us rise to the occasion as we progress. I think Aubrey is a part of that. She'a factor!I think next season Aubrey will have bring her A-game on offense with scoring. They’ve played much better since that Arkansas game. That loss was a sobering wake up call. The 2014-2015 UConn team had one at Stanford. They ran the table after that all the way through to the national championship. Let’s see how far this team can go. They’re shooting and passing much better, and their team defense has also improved. For awhile there I had flashbacks to Arkansas, but they played pretty well for the last three quarters of the game.
3 records actually:Two records set today by “buckets” Can she break 170 assists this season? She’s got 130 now.
Reminds me of Ashja JonesEdwards is a throwback power forward. She is a female version of Karl Malone. Fortunately, she will always have a teammate who can pass to her!
