Butler Post Game Thread

Liam is our best player and possible lottery pick, get a clue, he makes a huge difference.
Is Liam going to make Hassan stop playing hero ball? Make Solo and Jaylin Stewart even modestly serviceable on defense? Make us get more than 20% of 50/50 balls.

I believe you are the one that needs a clue. He's good and will help, but if anyone thinks he is what is between us and serious success this year, I don't know what to say. You are just BLIND.

.-.
Maybe not but he'll make us a lot better than we are currently.
agreed. but that alone isn't going to make us a great team this year. we are majorly flawed and the coach doesn't seem to be getting through or figuring out that maybe some things need to be changed

Are you really getting after him for winning back to back in the most dominating way we've ever seen in college basketball because he had some pros on his teams?

You're really still waiting to see what he's made of as a coach? How many national championships will satisfy you and how huge do the margins need to be?
Nope. Saying it's a lot easier coaching a team loaded with NBA talent. What has he done this year to fix flaws that were exposed in Maui? With what was supposedly a team with top 10 talent at the beginning of the year? Why is he sticking with the same old every game when it is clearly not working?

Let's remember AK was a game time decision. You have to imagine that he played almost the full game tonight on a still sore ankle. So for tonight, anyway, I really don't want to hear any garbage directed his way.

Really want to drop a few curse words here for you overly entitled whining babies.

I was worried he'd actually said something bad.

Dude has to feel like he's being gaslit by the entire world sometimes. He isn't wrong when he talks about not getting enough respect considering his accomplishments and status in the sport. He just dares to say it out loud.
Which is why he doesn't get it. He should just keep his mouth shut when opening it is clearly not helping matters.

Once everyone realizes Liam is undoubtedly our best player this will all make sense.
I assumed everyone knew that by now. Karaban had a very good game tonight but the whole offense is a mess and the biggest reason why is because we don't have McNeeley loosening everything up with his dribbling/playmaking/getting to the rim and we instead have Karaban trying to gallop down the lane. Once Liam is back and AK is back in his proper role the offense will look way better. Hass is having to do way too much as the only point guard and only great ballhandler.

Glad you are thrilled with a two point OT win over one of the two worst teams in the league in a game we were favored by 12.5 and had a 15 point lead in. Yeah, rah rah

Man, it’s disappointing that only Diarra and Karaban are the only guys trusted to make plays with the ball in the final seconds.
and they're not all that trusted - Karaban had that terrible turnover at top of key at the end of regulation - how does he lose that and not protect the ball?

This is the epitome of being a brat. Have some damn class man. I don’t care how right you think you are you don’t say stuff like this.

Did Coach K, Pop, etc. ever say stuff like this?

Man I’m a Michigan fan and Jim Harbaugh went to a Super Bowl in the NFL and never got remotely to saying stuff like this when Big Ten refs were bending him over when he first got there.

He’s also going to miss a month and come back with a bit of a bum wheel. That injury is tough for a shooter. You can’t practice your jump shot because that high ankle mechanism is how you get your lift.

Our next 5 games are at X, at Marquette, at Creighton and home against St. John’s. There’s a home game against DePaul in there as a gimme, but that’s what today was supposed to be.

On the plus side, there are chances for some big road wins there to help our metrics If we step up.

Solo Ball is allergic to assists but got dam that boy is a bucket. Wins ain’t easy!!
he almost blew it -missing that 1 on 1! that was hard to watch him miss his time to shine.

Someone said we’re headed towards the bubble. You can not make it up. We call the players soft but some of these takes are softer than cottonelle tissue. Tough BE win. Won’t be the last this season. Enjoy the ride. We roll!
Everyone in the spread thread was predicting this game would be way closer than it should be, and now that it was close, it’s somehow a disaster. We showed great resolve in this game. Matta is a good coach and once again, a team was playing their hearts out to beat the defending champs.

We all sad it when they beat gtown, instead taking the act out of the ball they should have used the opportunity to run late clock offense in real game situations. The last two games those have come back to bite us in the ass. Hass is not the man to take that last shot he either gets stuck on the outside or takes it too deep.

This team honestly seems to zone out at times during the game. Get a lead and think they have done enough and then the other team comes back. No energy just going through the motions they have nobody that's gonna kick the guys asses and keep that intensity. There is no Cam Spencer on this team. The basketball iq of this team is just not there, I know we wanna say the coaches need to coach them better but players have to be smarter as well.

The defense is what it is at this point the guys don't seem to understand so e of the most basic fundamental things they have to do to even play average defense like stay in between your man and the basket. I see guys over and over let guys get on their hips and turn corners when all they need to do is stay in front. Have tge guys never heard getting in guarding position and being in their toes so they are caught flat-footed.
