No it’s not. It’s super entitled. If you are the best coach in college basketball there’s no need to constantly try to puff your chest out about it.

I can’t think of one great coach who would actually say that out loud to anyone, especially a ref. He has to get his head out his you know what.
I mean you can always go root for someone else until Hurley leaves. We’d hardly know you were gone.

We don’t play very hard for most of the game - we basically won the game with the burst to 37-22 and then didn’t do a thing after that.

Offensive is occasionally spectacular, bogs down way too much. Hassan is so sticky with the ball at times. Guys just do not play as had on offense as we have over the past two years - we went from maniacal to meh.

Defense…is garbage. Complete garbage.

Tarris needs to get in the film room. He is off the page way too often. When he’s lunging at a shooter and poor Hassan is guarding the center, one of those guys has made a mistake and it was not Hassan.

Anyway, that was a terrible game against a terrible team and we were lucky not to lose. Whoever the patron saint of high ankles is, I hope we appease him this week.

Agree. It’s a bad look for Dan. I hope he apologizes. It’s a stressful job and he’s at the pinnacle of it. But he needs to let it be.

It is what it is. Same recent mistakes: getting outscored by 10 on the line (19-9), cant execute down the stretch with a lead (some really bad shots)....

But, they gutted out a W in OT which was critical. Need McNealy back asap to take the pressure off. The 3-Peat Dream is alive!!!

Our two best offensive players are guys that need 5 screens to happen before they can get a shot off. We have no one who can consistently create for themselves, and our only guy that can drive (Diarra) is inefficient and erratic.

That didn’t feel good. Butler is mediocre at best and we were home. We can’t close a game or keep momentum at all. Our guys are not tough, they seem to always give up position on a drive or a bad offensive rebound.

They thought that had something in Mahaney which they didn’t unfortunately, but this roster construction is really not good. A team full of finesse guys can’t work and the staff should know that.

I mean you can always do root for someone else until Hurley leaves. We’d hardly know you were gone.
lol at telling a lifelong UConn fan to go root for someone else.

My family used to watch every single UConn game together when my grandparents were alive and we were together. When my aunts/uncle held holiday parties at their place and a game was on we’d watch it together. Man shutup talking about I should go root for someone else when you probably started rooting for them because you got accepted to the school.

The program is bigger than Hurley believe it or not.

I didn’t read this. Because I genuinely don’t care.

This is a deeply flawed team. There’s no urgency, no killer instinct, no fight.

One of Dan’s worst coached games I can recall. He’s shown in back to back games an inability to deviate defensively from the initial game plan. The lack of timeouts during Butler’s runs is concerning.

The book is out on how to beat UConn. ISO ball and taking every single one of our terrible defenders off the dribble. Karaban gets skated by. Mahaney gets skated by, Stewart gets skated by, Ball gets skated by, Ross gets skated by.

This team is headed towards the bubble.

Just shut down this thread and pin this post.

Hurley needs to have a heart to heart with Diarra. Love his energy, effort, and everything he’s given the last 2+ years, but he is not a closer and should not take a shot at the end of games unless he’s wide open. Closest one he had in the last 4 mins was the half-court prayer. And then after we finally get AK and solo involved in OT we take the lead… not a coincidence

If we score 70 in regulation we win. Another game in sixties in regulation. The offense was stymied for huge portions of the game. And we missed a ton of bunnies inside. Diarra was 1 for his first 8 and almost all were at the rim.

But I'm happy. An ugly win is a win. It it looks beautiful in the W/L column. Sleep well. I will.
