Tuck just in a little funk, where we are in the season and some choices she needs to make are perhaps weighing on her mind, perhaps something else but best to get it our of her system now and then turn it on for the next 10 games or so.. Kia, Gabby, Butler and throw in Tuck for that matter - you can't keep making the same moves every time. Look at what makes Stewie and Moriah successful - they diversify.. If you look at what Kia does in her drives to the bucket, as is the case with both Tuck and Gabby - it's the same moves over and over and when they decide they're going to shoot off of a move, they tend to follow it through (more often than not) and it'd something you can defend against. Butler last night proved she can dominate against smaller teams but she too needs to change it up a bit. Taking her defender out 10-12 feet and taking that jumper seems to be in her comfort zone so stay after it.

Of course they can keep doing the same moves until someone stops them. No one in WCBB has been able to stop Morgan so far because she has moves and counter moves for days. This is a case of her stopping herself or more likely her knee limiting her.

I think the last couple of games that wasn't the case. Would agree that if something works milk it until something tells you it's no longer working but I see the moves they made in the Cincy game and the ECU game and the defense was onto them. Kia need to pull up and hit that medium range jumper. Gabby, once she's determined to go to the bucket and is shut-off by a quick defender she rarely has a second option. Would concur to a degree on Tuck perhaps stopping herself but again I think she needs to mix it up some.

Thanks for taking the time to post the video. I did see the game, and the replays. My understanding of technical foul is that it does not involve player contact during the playing of the game. So I did not understand why it was a technical, and I still don't. I guess they called her for unsportsmanlike conduct, though there certainly was contact. I thought the refs were discussing whether to call a flagrant. I was surprised vby the technical call. The rule is just not clear to me.
As an aside, your video showed quite clearly that Butler "moved" the ECU player aside as the shot went up. I didn't noticed that in the game replays. People here seem to think that Natalie was being pushed around, but looks to me like she did all the pushing. At least during this sequence that led to the technical.

It was a very chippy physical game the refs swallowed the whistle many times. Can't remember the last time UCONN had two technical fouls from two different players (KLS & Nat). The technical called on Natalie was a flop worthy of ND. The one on KLS was strange and unnecessary because KLS was having such a good game. To be clear I'm saying KLS initiate it and was a fault and I rather she save that for a game when she having a not so good game and needs to get herself or the team going. Not worried about Gabby at all. Napheesa played well also snagging 3 offensive rebounds (in a row) among taller players at point . Beginning to worry about Morgan-her 3 Ball looks flat, she is not finishing at the basket at her normal rate and she is getting out positioned for some rebounds in the post. The one thing Morgan continues to do exceptional well is to kick the ball out of the post-KLS should thank her.

In the last what 2 or 3 years we have played them I am pretty sure there has been atleast 1 Tech called in every game except maybe 2. Granted most went against Heather Macy... Let's just say I was expecting a Tech at some point.

Surprisingly, no one applauds Katie Lou.
She has 19 pts, 5 rebs, 2 asts, only 1 TO.
Lou has well accomplished herself as a real good UConn starter...

She's more comfortable now. The game has slowed down for her, and NOW.....she knows she can play at this level.
So now, all she has to do is paly, and let the game come to her. Early on, she was thinking too much, trying her best not to make any mistakes.

What's interesting to me is that Geno didn't say a word to her on the sidelines following the play. He has repeatedly emphasized that he wants her to play tougher and be more aggressive. She did on that play, and he seemed fine with the result.

Well, for my money, Stewie to Mo to Lou in the last minute of the 1st quarter was priceless!

The back over the head from Moriah (ala DT) was worth the admission---I watch Uconn games to the bitter ends--and some are very bitter. The over fouling and fouling on every shot attempt was frustrating to watch. If you put yourself in the coaches place (not Geno) what was the benefit of that approach---?? The score was already set, did this give them a "moral" victory?? NO! Geno did not look pleased with that either..

Butler has been playing Division 1 (Big East AAC) for nearly 2 years now (the Practice time with the team counts)--Geno gave her a huge trust and comment---knock some one on their A---. She's been strutting ever since. Early on she was trying to read Geno's mind--is this what he wants? If not is this what he wants? --when that goes--the game comes. Geno's had new players (for nearly 30 year) looking at the bench for approval--and he hates it.. Play--just play the game. When confidence comes the bench looking stops..

I don't understand the call on Butler. Was it a technical or a flagrant foul? I thought that the announcer said technical. My understanding is that a technical foul cannot be called due to player contact during course of the game. If it was a flagrant, then Natalie should have been sent to the locker room.

You're correct. The girl was certainly getting right up in her after that play ended waiting for Nat to turn around.

Maybe that is what she said, but during the time when the refs were looking at the monitor to evaluate the play, I saw Big Nat smile, SMILE and that is what was needed. The girls need to be more nasty and mean when teams figure they can do what they want to and not play by the rules and expect OUR Huskies to do NOTHING about it - i.e. Kia getting her head ...; Gabby having her leg taken from under her; Mojo getting knocked around a few times; Stewie getting pounded on, etc. Show other teams that if you want to play that way then get a role player to do the same to their star player and send a message that two can play that game, but hopefully no one gets hurt because of it.

Remember John Ferguson of the Montreal Canadians? He handled that job with pleasure and he managed to score a few goals.

That's the best description of the incident I've seen. The whole thing was overblown by the flop.

Natalie's a big, strong young lady.That was far from a flop. Before that, Natalie shoved her aside as the shot was being taken to get position for the rebound. So she showed a couple of aggressive moves. Good for her. But, she was fortunate that it was not a flagrant. BTW, if Kia Vaughn had done that to a UConn player, there would have been plenty of Husky Howling, both at Kia and C.Viv. Natalie got a high-five, and stayed in the game.

Nowhere near as dangerous as Prince shoving Maya in the small of the back, leveling her on her tailbone - refresh my memory. Was that called a flagrant?
