As a UConn fan, I highly recommend that Illinois adopt the Northwestern strategy of giving up open threes and hoping that we shoot 13.6% again on them again.

Yeah, but we shot 2 of 22 on open threes (not including Andre Johnson's made 3 in garbage time). Not contested threes. Northwestern's defense had nothing to do with that

The great Illinois offense could only put up 64 against Marquette and that was with Shannon scoring 21 and Domask 18. Marquette also shot 29% from 3 and beat'em by 7.

Don't overlook or underestimate anybody. If they say they want to get out and run, they're going to try and get out and run. Be ready for it and respond accordingly. Deep benches aren't afraid to run all night.

What fan bases including ours say is inconsequential for the players and coaches of these 2 teams at this point. Both teams are going to lay it all on the line and see what happens. I just don’t think Hurley or the players are even aware of this bulletin board crap.

That’s actually been our biggest flaw — taking the foot off the gas early when the game has been won — and NW did expose it. It’s not a flaw that’s going to cause us to lose, but they did expose our flaw.

If they want to beat Uconn they will have to score more then 72. Uconn will be dropping 90+ on their defense, and Uconn is a better defensive team then Iowa St.
