Build your all-time starting five with $15

You can literally pick any 5 that costs $15 and have a heckuva team. I'll take 3 $3 players - Napier, Castle, Clingan. Add Donyell at the 4, and that leaves a superb athlete who played years in the NBA for $1, Scotty B.

I can never do these - I overthink and get mad when I leave out guys I like. It’s too frustrating and I quit.

I can’t decide on just one iteration.

It’s nice having enough greats to make this a real debate and fun exercise

Pretty clear cut (if they even have 25 greats) with most programs

Despite our surplus of PGs and Shabazz being the guy I ALWAYS want to pick here…2 bucks for El-Amin might be the move. He was so good. Great leader, clutch…

Again, we need one of those SIM maven's to start running these teams against each other. That would actually be a pretty cool thing to do in the off-season.

Shabazz ($3) Lamb ($2) Caron ($4) Charlie ($3) and Clingan ($3)

Ultimate point God

A shooter with length and can get in passing lanes + can play off ball

Do it all Caron

Jumbo 4 who was a great floor spacer + shot blocker

Clingan is Clingan

Covering my bases rebounding wise, defensively, with shooters, and a go to scorer in Caron when needed. And Shabazz in there to make sure everyone gets the ball accordingly while being the best catch and shoot 3 point guy of the group of PGs.

If your roster isn’t starting with a 3 dollar discount Clingan you’re not doing this right. He might be the most valuable asset at any dollar value.
That and $3 Shabazz.

He has everything you need to run a great team and has all the ability to play both on and off the ball seamlessly.

Honestly not sure how he became the $3 player but I’ll take it.

If I went with any $5 guy it’d be Marshall value wise because I don’t think there’s another super talent in that group.

PGs have Shabazz at $3 who is a $5 player.
SGs have Ben and Lamb is a pretty good value choice too who can do a little bit of everything
SFs have Caron who is a $5 player realistically
Centers have Clingan who is another $5 value player

I tried to find a way to fit Marshall in but I’m not moving off of Bazz or Clingan and really wanted a dominant wing scorer which I didn’t think was there under $4.

So Butler and the next closest thing to Marshall in Charlie it was lol

Lots of interesting teams. I’m picking

Napier
Gordon
Gay
Adrien
Clingan

Great scoring. Nobody going to come into the lane with Adrien and Clingan.

Might just take all five $3 players - imagine Charlie V and Donovan? Castle as the tall elite shooting guard with Napier's 3s and passing and drives? Rudy Gay then just chilling and scoring and rebounding.

Really cannot lose with $15, the obvious bargains are Chris Smith for $1, Karaban for $1, and Clingan for $3

Easy:

PG: Chris Smith at $1 (this is a steal)
SG: Ray Allen at $5 (best player in UConn history)
SF: Caron Butler at $4
PF: Jeff Adrien at $2
C: Donovan Clingan ($3) (another steal)
Maybe it's because 89-90 is burned into my mind more than any of those other late 80s early 90's seasons but I will always think of Chris Smith as a SG even though he is listed as a PG on this exercise. Using most of your logic in the brackets, I think I would actually go Napier at point, slide Smith to SG and Allen to SF. This looks even better to me:

PG: Napier
SG: Smith
SF: Allen
PF: Adrien
C: Clingan

I know I'm leaving $1 on the table with this group so realistically you can swap in Dyson, Lamb or Hawkins on the wing for Smith based on preference. The possibilities are endless here.
