Buffalo Post Game Thread

i keep hoping the coaches learn how to manage the end of games. Hopefully that last drive gives them confidence. Gotta give credit to Fagnano and Neider…and especially Freeman.

I still don’t like the defense…Buffalo is not a good offensive team…and the defense couldn’t get off the field or get turnovers.

Still lots of issues with this team, but they pulled out a win on the road in what was feeling like we were headed to another crushing loss after a late blown lead.

Using those timeouts on UB's last possession probably ended up saving UConn in the end.

Either way, we'll take the W! 3-2 and on to FIU at the Rent next week.

1. It's a win
2. On the road
3. They showed guts on the last drive
4. Defense only gave up 17 points. In 2025, that should always be a win.
5. If anyone was expecting a fairy tale season and relaxing Saturdays watching UConn, fuggetaboutit. Us fans are sacrificing our livers and heart health watching this team.
6. 3-2 heading to the halfway point of the season.
7. Great job by Mora using his TO's knowing his DC wasn't calling a defensive set which would prevent a TD at the end.
8. Still zero TO's by UConn this season. For all the wanking about coaching and fundamentals, this is a feather in Sammis' hat.
9. Europe can suit up me and seven of my buddies tomorrow and still have the Cup wrapped up by 3pm.
10. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Expect more of the same next week and the rest of the season. Except it will be a win at home.

As frustrating as this team has been late in games, maybe this is exactly what we needed. Almost blew it but pulled together and pulled out the W. Maybe this gets the monkey off their backs (not just the players, but the coaches as well) and they start playing with some confidence late in games.

I know we haven't been as good as a lot of us had hoped. But we're 3-2 and could be 5-0. I'm not giving up on the season and still hope for at least 8 wins. Need some people to step up on both sides of the ball but we can get it done

We’ve had four games where we’ve been in the position to put the game away in the 4th quarter, and yet every single game has ended up being a one score game. I keep hoping that will improve, but it hasn’t.

The win is huge for morale, and hopefully we can find a way against FIU and get to 4-2 before the bye

The combination of talent on defense and play calling from the Brock means no game is out of reach for UConn or its opponents.

Thankfully you don’t win based on style points.

Glad we gritted it out to get the W at least.
Well, when I land in California I will definitely watch the replay on ESPN Plus. I am 35,000 ft above Colorado in flight. I got nervous seeing UConn up only 17-10 because predictably I assumed Buffalo was going to tie it. I was looking at the ESPN ticker on JetBlue's in flight TVs and did not think I was going to be able sign online but gave it a shot.

any road win is a good one. there were a number of clutch players there. And to me it's more about the psyche of the team. - and also I hope we learned a little bit about offense. Feeding the ball over and over to cam is not the way to win these games. That's not on him. I like that kid from Sweden and I like when joe got a chance to throw some balls.

And hat off to our offensive line for not allowing any sacks.

We can criticize the game all day long, but there were a number of bright points today.

Normally I'd be interested in seeing how many of UB's rushing yards came after contact. This defense is horrible at making the stop with the first defender.

The game was closer than it should have been. Again the lack of a leader in defense is gonna bite us, along with batcrap stooped playcalling. We need the win, but more emphatically we changes in how the team prepares. I don't want 3 wins to be our ceiling for the year.
