Bryan Hodgson Hired as New Providence Head Coach

A lot of people have been saying that "football drives the bus" and that the non-major conference football schools will be eliminated. They have been saying this since 2002, so I guess it is possible they will be right eventually.
Actually as early as 1983ish. Got a Masters in Sport Admin at UMass. Profs there said FB schools were going to take their ball and go home in 20 years. It has taken much longer, but we are almost there.

Also earned a masters in sport management inside the halls of Curry Hicks!

The whole conflating revenue and profit has been debunked time and time again. A program can make a lot of revenue, but if it is pouring all that cash into the incinerator that is P4 football, there will be nothing left for basketball.

Well if you already have nothing then if you don't have football then you still have nothing. And that is what most of the Big East is facing.

The majority of money for players will come from outside of the revenue share. The biggest determiner of competitiveness is how many super-wealthy outside benefactors do you have? Most of the B1G and SEC schools have tons of them. A couple in the Big East do.

A lot of this is speculation, but sources are indicating that player payments will increase 30% or more next year. That doesn't happen if the revenue share is anything resembling a cap, or if the NIL "clearing house" is anything other than a rubber stamp.
