Because they suck?

His finals were OSU and Oregon and USC not Kentucky Kansas UNC and Duke.
They don’t suck, they are very close to home, and they have a very good recruiting class coming in.

He isn’t potentially the greatest player of all time? Must suck.

I think basketball was less important than other factors…

… being close to family in LA, positive influences and Lebron’s network nearby, an A-list social scene so he’s not surrounded by sycophants, going to a football school so people don’t destroy him if the Bball team fucks up, a big enough city that he can walk in public, top-end facilities, live off campus, etc etc…

seems like USC was the only real choice for those quality of life reasons

He also wouldn’t have started at Duke or UK. He needs starter level minutes to develop for the NBA…he ain’t a Devin Booker type of prospect who was a lottery pick even though he didn’t start a single game at UK.

Not clear he’ll start at usc. They already have their starting guards in Ellis and Collier, and they’re a preseason top 25 team.

I doubt he’ll be a first round pick on his own merit (ie, a team may draft him in hopes of getting lebron too) after one year. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s one and done even if no one will draft him in the first round, and plans on being at the end of the bench on whoever has lebron with some minimally guaranteed contract, planning on developing in the league/g-league.

Was listening to starting lineup on Sirius (frank isola and Brian Scalabrine).

Had a great point on Bronny. He makes $6mil a year in NIL. He is prince of LA. He can go home to Beverly Hills mansion for a sandwich. And, he is king of campus at usc.

If he goes to nba after one year, his quality of life will drop. Lol.

Why grind in the nba m, maybe g league for a spell, as the 10th man on an nba roster? Stay in school, kill the NIL. Love it up on campus.

Someone made the same point regarding Hunter Dickinson. He was able to leverage himself into being a highly, highly sought commodity to his ability as a college player. Everyone wanted him, he apparently secured a two year contract, and he can live it up on a college campus. Why would he go to the NBA to barely play and probably be out of the league in a few years?

Dad has done a nice job of leveraging NIL opportunities for Bronny.. Has a shot at being BMOC if he invests his NIL wisely and leases his Ferrari -- not buy it outright.. Won't have to worry about running up the mileage ceiling/limits on lease...Just goin' back and forth between campus and home.

I agree with this and under most circumstances you'd be right but Lebron keeps making the point that he wants to play in NBA with his son which seems to imply that he wants him in the league sooner rather than later.

On the other hand, Lebron is obviously a physical freak and though he's not as sturdy as he used to be he could probably easily be a good player in the league for 3-4 more years if necessary so maybe he's ok waiting a bit.

For the recruiting guys, how many stars for Bronny is his name is John Smith? Borderline 4? He has a nice corner jumper.

He’s actually really good - definitely deserves to be a top 35-50 type.

For all the hype and noise around him, he’s a lot like his dad in that he’s very much a team player on the court.

USC makes sense - he’s basically ‘staying home.’

Both LA schools yes but more a fit for the roster and he can come in and be that 3rd guard for a stud recruiting class.
Usc a Nike school. Yes, that is the difference. Ucla is under armour I believe.
