Amida has his flaws, but our interior d is non-existent without him. Why hasn't he played at all today? When he's out it's a nice stroll right to the hoop. Olander could not be any more useless on D and Nolan doesn't protect the rim much. Play brimah so we can at least protect the rim

No kidding. It's a layup clinic right now for Memphis. Every basket for them has been a layup or wide open 3. He needs to get in there to at least contest shots.

Gotta say imo he goes up with it way better than PN too. PN goes up like AO

I thought Tyler did pretty damned well against Goodwin, and AB wasn't rebounding worth a crap. He had the ball knocked away from him four or five times that I saw.

Nolan was steady, esp as the game went on. Held Goodwin to 7 pts. Had a nice play to keep it alive at the end.

This game was too fast for Brimah. He was getting run off the court, so we had to go with quickness over size.

Brimah is definitely the quickest big. Patrick and Elmore were talking out of their ass. Not sure why he didn't get burn but Nolan did an admirable job with his post D.

Brimah didn;t stop anyone during his time….Elmore had it right, they were too fast and too physical for him today….TO had a few good minutes and Nolan was fine……our help D was horrid but Bazz and Boat need to be help accountable at some point especially Boat today, Jackson ate his lunch for the most part…..

Imagine these complaints and we beat the 20th ranked team? All good in Huskyland for now!

We needed quickness so we put in Tyler olander?? Uhhh. That's like saying we needed free throw shooting so we put andre Drummond in

UConn was up 9 when Brimah and Facey were in. Facey lost his player and Memphis started a run with a three that NG ran out late to cover for Facey.

And AB just was constantly unable to handle the screens set by Goodwin. PN played those screens really well. The guards blew by our guards when PN and DD or NG were moved to the perimeter. It was Memphis design in this game.

I agree Nolan was solid. By olander over AB??? There's no argument. When Tyler is in it's literally a layup line..

TO was utilized when Memphis switched offense and tried to get ball inside. Nolan was in jeopardy of getting into foul trouble and AB was having a bad day. TO gave valuable minutes that allowed for PN to be in at the end of the game.

Quickness isn't necessarily physical in basketball….Brimah was never in the right spot in his minutes, thinking was slow and his instincts were't prepped…..we won, KO pushed the right buttons.

He has quick feet but his lack of experience is what made the game too fast for him IMO. At this pace you need someone who can make faster decisions.

Quick and fast are different. Offensively Memphis was playing a 90 foot game.

That negated Boat, Bazz and Brimah's quickness.

Brimah played like 4 minutes. He could have definitely helped more with the parade of wide open layups & dunks today by Memphis. All it takes is a couple blocks to get into the opponents heads & alter their shots, taking them out of rhythm. We don't need him to score, just protect the rim. He could have helped this game. When he gets minutes, our defense seems much better.

He was also extremely effective setting screens... about half of the 3s that were made in this game were made possible by PN. Now let's see guys pass to him when he's wide open, screaming, and flailing about for the ball.

AB had one of those days when he could not get his feet or his hands to do the right things on the defensive end. He got in rebounding position but couldn't catch the ball or played volleyball. On defense rather than standing his ground and stick on his man or his assignment he got caught up with chasing the guards running in his area and out of position leaving the post wide open. He hasn't played long enough to adjust-he will. This was more a Nolan type game. And TO - I thought he played well enough in spots to do some things to help. He was no less effective than AB. I thought Facey could have played a bit more. DD was huge defensively the last 5 minutes and OT (the foul call in OT for that 3 pt play was ridiculous-he wasn't even in the play to reach in).
His offensive effort flat out sucked and don't think UConn can afford that in the tournament. I still can't understand why he is so weak with the ball and seems to fall an awful lot.
This was a huge win, but the games vs. Lville and Cincy loom larger. Also- no more WTF losses. This team showed it can grind it out-a great trait for the dance.
