Yes. He has the perfect personality for an end of bencher -upbeat, cheerful, always rooting his team on. If you don't think that matters to coaches when filling out their bench, guess again. Attitude plus shot blocking ability plus ability to run the floor = a chance. We all know what the negatives are, but a year or two in the D leauge might help with those. 7 feet of positive attitude can go a long way.
What is his NBA talent? Don't say shot-blocking, as that does not always transfer over. Emeka was a vastly superior shot-blocker and his averages went from 4.3 @ UConn to 1.7 in the NBA and Hasheem was a much more polished player overall and he could not sniff the floor in the league.
Boog Amida is an elite athlete who has great length, hops, shot blocking ability. Great running the floor, is a lob threat around the basket and good help defender. There is plenty there to see why Amida is an NBA level player.
Amida also has much better balance and better running the floor than Hash. Amida is also a much better athlete than Thabeet was.
Amida is the protypical big man that gets paid top dollar in the NBA. An athletic defensive big who is a rim runner and put back specialist on offense. Whether he makes the NBA or not, he has the talent you need to make it.
