The BET is also used to having people pay $99 for the package, which is mostly Nutmeggers confident that they're going to get three UConn games and a bunch of other games of they want to show up for those. Nowhere else consistently produces three games for the home team.

In the interest of full disclosure, I should inform you that I have put in a bid to have the Big East Tournament located in my driveway from 2013 through 2017.
.

I'd show up for that!

The halcyon days for women's basketball attendance are over.

A hefty majority of fans I personally know simply can't see a reason to leave their house to watch the game live. They figure that they're already paying Cablevision or DirectTV for the service, and their 50 inch HDTV set has a gorgeous picture, so why leave home?

The price of the tickets is not the #1 factor any more. They could give them away, and it wouldn't make that much difference. Reasonably priced HDTV sets represent a paradigm shift for sporting events. Falling attendance is happening all over the country, across many sports.

Could not disagree more. As a senior who takes 3 to 6 grandkids who really enjoy the atmosphere and game excitement, I just go to 2 games a year instead of 6 or 7.Yes, at least 50% or more of UC fans are seniors and we should be interested in keeping the fan base
( our youth) interested.youth tickets are sometimes discounted but only the nose bleeds.

I salute your promoting the game to your grandchildren. Unfortunately, my grandchildren are scattered to Texas, Maine, and Pennsylvania.

BTW, they have large screen TVs at the Arena too, trouble is, they are 100 feet away, 50 feet up, and you have to ignore the basketball game playing in front of you :p

Non-regulation court. Dimensions are all off.

Cool. How much are your neighbors charging for parking (since your driveway is already spoken for)?

I had gone the previous times that the games were held in Bridgeport but not this time. Ticket pricing, parking price and HDTV may have affected my decision somewhat but the added cost of gasoline (160 mile round trip, twice, in an SUV) pushed he into the stay at home column, Carolyn Peck be damn (and she is a strong disincentive to watch ESPN).

My concern is how do we expect to grow the fan base if more and more fans are going to be priced out of attending the games. Just because we live in Fairfield county doesn’t mean we are all wealthy. Most of us are struggling to make ends meat.
The high ticket prices I feel are not only doing little or nothing to grow our fan base, but they may also be alienating and turning away existing fans. How do we expect to attract younger fans or grow the game if they can't afford to attend? $15.00 for parking and $41.00 a ticket will keep too many young families at home.

I have many friends that used to attend several Yankee games every year but can now only afford to go to one or two each season. And we're now asking fans to do a similar thing for our UCONN woman. I guess that’s the high price of success.
But my fear is if the attendance keeps going down, when or will anyone do anything to stop it?
Let’s make the games reasonable.
