At this stage, he's more physically developed and bouncier, plus being a better finisher. Not a knock on Hawkins, more of a compliment to Mullins. This dude is athletic AND a quick trigger.
Bouncier. I don't see it. They both have great ups and Mullins isn't a big muscular guard. Hawkins played some great D when he was here too. I don't see any issues comparing the two since Hawkins was a lottery pick.

@HooperScooper it looks like you won't need to police the spelling of Braylon. He says in the video on the Indy Star article that noone calls him Braylon. It is B-Mul or just B. Most boneyarders have to be able to spell 'B'.

I went back to the early July thread about the recruits each of us coveted. At the time Thomas was considered in hand and on everybody's projection and wish list. BMul was coveted by many of us, but almost nobody thought he would leave Indiana/midwest in the end. Great job in the end by the staff and clearly Hurley in particular. He prioritized this kid and 'B' felt it. Once again the staff knocked the cover off the ball when BMul visited. I am thrilled and trying to get used to not writing Braylon or Mullins, which is harder than you would think.
Yeah, this whole thing starts with Hurley. BUT, it’s not even questionable that we have the best coaching staff.
Those three assistants are head coaches themselves and a huge asset to the program. Just like the teams they assemble, they all compliment each other with different skill sets.

The past two weeks with the three committed recruits have totally blown me away. I am literally on cloud nine with the success of this program. Not too long ago this program experienced some dark years and to ever think UConn could ever beat out the likes of N. Carolina, Kentucky, etc for top recruits would be a dream beyond dreams. It feels great that our time has finally arrived. God bless coach Hurley and staff for making this all a reality and let’s GO Huskies!

With the adjectives thrown around Mullins, I liked him to a taller Cam Spencer. Clearly the long range threat, but heady defender, basketball IQ are common for both - Cam we just more of a firecracker out there (attitude/personality) and maybe scrappier so we will see on that, but I like where this kid is heading.

Gonna get hammered for this but this kid moves and shoots like Greyson Allen. That being said it looks like he isn’t a total D*Bag. I couldn’t find any videos of him tripping opposing players.
No you didn't! Blasphemy! With so many other ballers to compare him to, what possessed you to throw up this comparison?!?!

Strangely enough his quick unorthodox release reminds me of Steph Curry.

Which one of the village idiots who blocked me made whatever post you’re quoting which I can’t see? Also feel free to share what was said lol

just stop comparing people to cam.
As one fascinated by mass psychology I need to study this trend of hot take “comparisons”. It seems to be an infatuation that just can’t help itself, when there is truly no point. Each kid comes with their own DNA, different parents. I find it almost a disservice not to just let them establish their own brand and legacy. Just value the kid for the skills they have and how it adds to the system/team without all the far fetched reaches into comparing.

If we're doing "pure" shooters then Rip wouldn't make my list. If we're choosing a guy to hit a big shot, then absolutely.

Ray, Rashad, Bazz, Mouring, BFair, Ben Gordon (over 40% career on large volume) are the ones that jump out to me. Hawk was a great shooter but he was under 40% both his years and Rip was under 40 two of his three years.

Hawkins was 6’4 185 going into draft, Mullins is that now. He jumps and runs at least as well as Hawkins, and puts it on the deck too.

I wasn’t saying Mullins is MJ and Hawkins is Eric Cobb… I basically said he’s a better athlete at this exact stage and COULD be as good a player as Hawk overall. I think he’s definitely a better defender and stronger.

I have no idea why that drew the ire of @3rdbass. I still can’t believe after all these years on the Boneyard the menial and fully equivocated takes that STILL draw backlash and “no way!” responses.
