It was obvious Illinois' game plan was to take it to Clingan and get him in to foul trouble.

Refs were allowing contact. During one of the first half TO's Katz asked Brad about strategy and Brad said they wanted to keep attacking Clingan.

Dumb move not adjusting to refs and game flow.

Honestly, not sure what else they do differently. They started hitting some shots deep in the second when we started sagging off and not closing out as hard. But once we started doubling the guard that killed us in the first half, there was nothing else to do.

It didn't seem like they were even running an offense. Most of their guys just stood around. It's like we were playing a different game than them.

Their game plan was.solid and one that other teams haven't seemed to try yet this tourny. However, when you're getting manhandled and not getting the fouls called, you gotta switch it up. Instead they just kept going at him and he kept saying "Bring it!!"

It was a good strategy. Clingan in foul trouble was their best chance

Maybe should have changed it after UConn got to the 10-0 part of their 30-0 run. Coaching malpractice to keep challenging the most dominant player while he’s eating you alive

In the first half they identified mismatches and isolated them. It was smart playing. But then we swapped up assignments and they weren't quite as good at hunting mismatches.

But that's really because of how disruptive Clingan is.

Once we put Karaban on Domask the post ups ended. They stopped playing Ty Rodgers because they needed 5 shooters on the court to try and pull Clingan out.

Everything they did was in response to Clingan. And nothing worked.
