not that it really matters but I don't get how we lose to Louisville by 30 and go from a 6 to a 5 then crush Memphis in Memphis who was a higher rated team and drop back to a 6. Guess I can't complain, we're going to the tourney this year, just seems to be very nonsensical to me

Lunardi simply moved Ohio State up one spot on the S-curve which bumped us down a spot. I think it was done before the Memphis game.

Apparently, he was more impressed by Ohio State beating 15-16 Purdue on a neutral floor than he was about UConn beating Memphis on their home court.

It's science, you know.

I don't know if Lunardi posts his S-Curve at all times or if Fishy is guessing, but it could also have been a procedural bump (up or down). The bracketing principles often mean your seed is +/- 1 from your actual s-curve rank.

People get he doesn't have input on the actual outcome right?

Given the choice between a 6 or 5 seed, I'll take being the 6 seed every time.

The historical prevalence of 12/5 upsets.
11s beat 6s at the exact same rate, and if you get by the 11, you'll almost certainly have to play a 3, somewhere geographically preferenced.

If you are a 5, you win at the same rate as a 6, but 4s win at a much worse rate than 3s, so you have a chance of playing a 13. And even if you play a 4, it is unlikely they will be near their geographical home.

We were actually 6 going in to the game, I looked before.

You should be able to tell it wasn't updated after last night because SMU is shown rising in seeding to a 9. That doesn't happen after losing to Houston (even though they had just lost to Ville and Memphis, so why the rise in the first place...?).

I also imagine Lunardi isn't up at 2 a.m. just to make sure he has UConn's seeding right immediately after a game, which will probably change before Sunday anyway. Why bother now with consecutive games on consecutive days?

Lunardi still thinks Nova is a #1. Enough said.

If the tourney started today, I'm 150% on board with us in that East region as it currently sits.

According to our fans we're a solid 1 seed...in the NIT

I wonder if UCONN ends up a 4 seed or higher if they beat Louisville? My guess they are a 5 seed right now at the very least.

Settle down people Lunardi has us back up to a 5 seed.

That bracket has cincy as a 4. I find it highly unlikely that they're going to be seeded higher than us at this point. We're better against the top 50 and top 100, higher SOS, 2-1 head to head record. We should get a nice RPI/SOS bump from the memphis/cincy/Lv combo.

With UNC and Cinci losing, along with SDSU or Iowa State moving up (thanks Cuse) there are three open 4 seeds, OU is out, so between us, MSU and OSU, I say we could be a 4 seed right now.
