Bowl Games (Non-UConn)

I think the SEC has been exposed in post season. They're still gonna get 1 team into the semis of the playoff, but only because the deck was stacked in their favor with so many teams. Bama getting thumped by Indiana, I know Vandy, Tennessee and LSU all lost bowl games. They collectively have 2 wins in the playoff and will get a 3rd today, but 2 of those will be against fellow SEC teams. A win against Tulane is the lone win against another conference in the playoff, and Texas over Michigan is the only win in a non playoff bowl game so far. Pretty pathetic, how are they so highly regarded as a conference?

I thought AL could win but also thought IN could run it up. I think Cignetti likes to post blowouts to convince everyone the Hoosiers are now to be feared.
Won’t be surprised if it ends up 38-3.

Well it’s there already…. This is getting embarrassing for Alabama. This would be like our men’s bb team losing by 40 pts to some upstart program….. This will be a tough one for Alabama fans.. Could be program defining… we’ll see if tide is changing, LOL

Indiana is mind boggling. What Cignetti has done is ruined it for every coach and program that says we just cant compete with the big boys. What makes it more amazing is there is no gimmick about it. They are just flat out this good.

Cignetti is so far of an outlier for coaching I think it would be unfair to compare success of any new coach to him. Texas Tech had all the money in the world to buy a team and still could score against Oregon. Cignetti is just that good

I went to IU during the Bob Knight era. Most students never stepped foot in Memorial stadium. No matter what happens from here out- this win goes down as one of the greatest wins in IU sports history!
Kudos to AD Scott Dolson and President Witten for finding and supporting Cignetti.

You find a coach, put a lot of money into the program, and it can be done. Easier said than done, but very possible for P4 teams in this new era.

I have a big question. why is the number 1 team playing no 5 instead of no 10. shouldn't they be playing the lowest seed?

They don't reseed after each round.

In other words Miami was actually a higher seed after the win against Ohio State. I guess that makes sense.
Yes. It's a bracket just like post season college basketball tourney. Pull an upset and you basically take the seed of the team you beat.
