Bowl Games (Non-UConn)

Cristobal always looks out of control... and it comes through in the Hurricanes play.

Absolutely no Ole Miss. I want to see the SEC stub their toe in every P4 playoff matchup... the more they pull their teams out of direct comparisons with other conferences, the more contrast chronic under-achievement in matchups of nominal equals draws.

The SEC is 2-6 against other P4 schools in the playoff --- 8 total bids (3 in 2024 & 5 in 2025)
Texas over Clemson; Texas over Arizona State
Ohio State over Tennessee, Ohio State over Texas, Notre Dame over Georgia, Miami over Texas A&M, Indiana over Alabama, Miami over Ole Miss

The Big Ten by comparison is 6-3 -- 7 total bids (4 in 2024 & 3 in 2025)
Ohio State over Tennessee, Penn State over SMU, Ohio State over Texas, Ohio State over Notre Dame, Oregon over Texas Tech, Indiana over Alabama
Notre Dame over Indiana, Notre Dame over Penn State, Miami over Ohio State

Head to Head: the Big Ten has the edge 3-0; of 8 total SEC teams in the playoff only one; 2024 Texas has managed any wins over another P4 conference team; The Big Ten has had 4 of their 7 total bids beat at least one other P4 conference team (to be fair neither Oregon 2024 nor Oklahoma & Georgia 2025 had a chance to beat a different P4 opponent, losing to a conference opponent in their first game played)

Updated... SEC now 2-6 against the other P4 schools in the playoff.

I hate both the SEC and ACC so I’m neutral. Expanded playoffs was the right move

Close competitive game but wasn't impressed with either team compared to teams from the past.

The U!!!!!!!!

What a game!

Man. There is something about Miami being in the Championship game. Makes it extra fun to watch. I'm not even a fan of the program. But it just makes it enticing to watch.

Now we need Indiana to win it all!!!! At Hard Rock!

It should be a 45-50 team tournament.
It's not March Madness. Just make it 16 teams like the "other division" has had for years. Nobody gets a bye, seeing as almost everyone loses when they get a bye anyways...

Happy Miami won but it's all about Indiana and Cignetti.

Cristobal forgot to congratulate Ole Miss on a great game and season.
He will. He isn't some jerk. Conservative and strange at some times, but he is a guy who respects the game and his opponent.

I have it all figured out a receiving votes tournament, winner of that plays the 25th ranked team, then you have play in rds to make into a 16 team field, top 16 teams get a bye.

Here's my idea, 2025 44 team college football playoff, UConn gets a rematch against Duke

With this format UConn would've had a shot at winning the national championship albeit very impossible odds but a chance nonetheless. I reseed every round thus the regular season is meaningful.

Well, FCS does have byes. I don't know how long they've been doing it, but a while now. Field is 24, not 16.
Yeah, they did back in 2013 or 2014 I think. They had about 30 years of doing it right.

Not sure why they expanded, but they had it right for a very long time...

Third year of the SEC out of the Championship game.

How much longer until they finally start losing some of that "Equity"?
Strangely coincides with about the time everybody else could start paying their players, like the SEC had been doing all along (we all know this is true, Shaq and Barkley brag on the air about how they were "taken care of" back in the day, and basketball was just a hobby compared to football).

They expanded when they started giving all the conference champions automatic bids (previously only select conferences got them). (The NEC & Big South gained their autobids when it went to 20; the Pioneer league when it went to 24
