That rocked
Looking back on the 4 losses, didn't realize that only one was a blowout, and the other 3 were within one score. Pretty darn good.
The idea that one game appreciably moves the needle is nutz.post on B12 and ACC fansites, get that bidding war going!
But it does nudge the needle. The only thing our independent football team can do is nudge the needle little by little. A Bowl Win over an ACC program moves the needle and if it doesn't, what's the point of even trying anymore. The idea that one game appreciably moves the needle is nutz.
It is another bullet point for the resume but nothing changes overnight.
LB Amare Campbell's dad was DE Marcus Campbell from Bloomfield (played under RE1.0).Just watched the replay from my DVR. During the 2nd half, North Carolina's interior linebacker made a great stop & the commentators said that his Mom had been a member of UConn's volleyball team & his Dad had played college ball at UConn. Ironic considering the outcome yesterday.
Do you really think that was a serious post? C'mon man, loosen up and have some fun! I'm just proud of the fact that I know what a GIF is and was able to find one that fit.The idea that one game appreciably moves the needle is nutz.

Given what else is posted on this board, yes.Do you really think that was a serious post? .
Just to be technically accurate, it's "it's" a small technicality, not "its."I know its a small technicality.
But the win vs. South Carolina was in January 2010
They were discussing LB Beau Atkinson, whose father, Chris, played for Skip Holtz.LB Amare Campbell's dad was DE Marcus Campbell from Bloomfield (played under RE1.0).

Thanks for clarifying. I didn’t hear the actual convo - I just knew Amare’s dad was Marcus.I’m pretty sure they were talking about Erika and Christopher Atkinson Hussain Beau is a linebacker. He was in the post game interview to coach kitchens. They moved down to North Carolina, which is probably why he ended up playing for them. He would’ve been a huge addition to this team.
I still have thinn they should move Rosa to slot receiver. He can get yards after the catch and he would be a reliable pass catcher in screens and check downsAgree but he did have that nice 11 yard run. Such a tough kid and nice to see him back.
I remember that. I was there at the AMP for that game and it was great hearing the jangling of car keys and the PC fans walking out in droves with about 11 minutes left in the gameStorrs East is Providence after we took over that place last season in the final regular season game. There were UConn chants very audible on TV for the entire second half lol
My nitpick was beer variety. Swill and IPAs were the only choices. Was flabbergasted that they didn't have a basic Sam Boston Lager, and that the Sam Adams Deck wasn't open.
There is a replay Monday the 30th on ESPN at 4AMGreat game- great trip. Stayed at the Hilton Park Plaza Friday night, nice Italian dinner with the wife. Breakfast at the hotel on gameday. Took the E Green line by accident (didn't know any better), so went out of the way a couple of stops and had to double back. So, like many others, we were 15 minutes late. Missed the first field goal drive. Had great seats in field box 15 (except for the foul ball net- not sure why that was necessary). Crowd was AMAZING. Yelled too much- no voice today. As already mentioned by another poster, the cheer when the dude hijacked the mic was tremendous. Hope that's on video because it should be sent to every Power conference front office (and the BCU AD just for laughs). Stayed for the MVP's and the trophy presentation. Joe and Price highly deserving. Decided to forgo the crowds at the stadium bars- Green line back to the hotel. Hung around the Commons- beautiful night- Chinese dinner then pastries and coffee at Tatte overlooking the Commons. Perfect end to a fantastic day with my beautiful wife. Up Sunday morning, found a terrific Brazilian bakery in Somerville- Pastelaria de Somerville. Had coffee, pastel de queijo, bolinho de aipim, and an ENORMOUS biscoito de povilho:

Then headed home!
Hope there is a replay of the game- would like to be able to break down the play more.
Congrats to the players, coaches, and Husky nation for a great season. The stink of 10 years of suck is largely washed away.
Looking forward to even greater success from Coach Mora, and to planning our next bowl trip!
geez. Maybe he will transfer here. Marcus a good player back then.LB Amare Campbell's dad was DE Marcus Campbell from Bloomfield (played under RE1.0).
As opposed to the "You get one shot" thread, this is an area where old folks definitely have an advantage as we have to get up and pee anyway around then. There is a replay Monday the 30th on ESPN at 4AM
Cannot deny that that particular thought crossed my mind.As opposed to the "You get one shot" thread, this is an area where old folks definitely have an advantage as we have to get up and pee anyway around then.
Boston.com is a junk website started by the Boston Globe years ago. Not sure whether it's still connected with the Globe. The Globe actually had a good article on the game, both online and in the paper edition this morning. One of the most detailed college football game articles they've had in years.I
I was surpised how smoothly it went for us, we were a late addition to the spectator roster. There was a pretty bad 3 car accident on the Mass Pike where we entered coming on from Rt 84 right at the service area. One car off into the center hill. Probably shortly after 8:30 AM or so. That was the only traffic we had and we purchased a parking pass online the night before, a short 5 minute walk.
Boston - If you go to Boston.com there isn't even a mention of the Fenway Bowl. Such a bizarre town.
