Bouknight, yikes, must see,

Geez. He put that in the cheap seats. I don't mind the chippy-Ness after the play either. On both sides. Did he get kicked out?

Hadn't seen this posted. Even if it was, worth watching twice.

It's been posted in the long Bouknight thread.

Probably time to shut down that thread anyway.

This probably deserves another thread, but I like modern NBA better than 90s NBA. I'd rather see 158-126 vs 100-95 all day.

Seems like we are back to the 70s model. At least the scores are. I didn't care for the 90s direction of basketball. Grinding the other team into oblivion with bigger and bigger bigs. Culminating with Shaq (who I like as a person).

The transition 3 is like the primary play of many teams now. Especially the Hornets. I wonder if Polley can carve out a niche in the league somewhere because he’s so good at it.

Polley in the NBA seems unlikely, but I suppose anything is possible. We've had a lot better players not make it. Boatright and Jalen Adams come to mind.

90s was fine.

Early 00s was a trainwreck. Didn't the 2004 Pistons set a record for holding teams under 80 points? Or was it 70?

Don Nelson was a slow guy, but he excelled at the transition 3. Not comparing Polley with him in any other game skills.

Just researched Nelson's career stats.

In 872 games with Boston over 11 seasons, Nelson averaged 11.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists. Overall, in 1053 career NBA games, Nelson averaged 10.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 20.6 minutes, shooting 48.4% from the floor and 76.9% from the line.

He got some rebounds, made some assists, and had a good shooting percentage.

I assume his defense wasn't bad to have a playing role with the Celtics. No 3 point shots then, so he might have averaged more points had there been one.

Bulls v. Jazz finals were brutal. 85 ppg was a ton of points in that series.

I don't know. 100-95 was the bottom of what I like to see. 150 is too much O.

Give me 110-105 and that means plenty enough scoring but some defensive stops along the way.

Well, let's hope Polley doesn't think in his own mind , that he will play in the NBA next year, then reads these strong negative opinions, and goes back into a funk.

Maybe he gets drafted in the second round, and because of decimating injuries to the team drafting him, he gets called up from the G League for a series of 10 day contracts?

Is that not possible??

It is possible that Polley plays in the NBA some day but it is not possible that he gets drafted in the second round.

Would have said the same about Ater Majok

Duncan Robinson comes to mind when I think about Polley in the NBA

Last time we had Polley to the NBA, Polley / Robinson comparison posts Tyler went into an extended slump. Hasn‘t anyone learned not to aggravate the mojo gods? Now I wouldn’t be shocked if Polley to go 1-6 from 3 tomorrow

Except that Polley's career shooting percentage from three at UConn is 37% on almost 4 threes per game (and the % is trending downward the last 2 seasons) and Duncan Robinson shot 42% from three on about 5 threes per game in his 3 years at Michigan.

Besides that they're both about 6-9 and shoot a lot of threes. I'm sure there are a lot of other guys in college who are similar to Robinson but not as good. Can Polley become what Robinson is in the NBA? I don't know but you must admit the probability is very low.

Don't think the Chief will be weighing in on this one.
If @Chief00 weighed in he would disapprove of Bouk blocking the shot out of bounds. Sometimes though I think sending one into the stands is worth it. And that block was stands worthy.
