Rasheed Wallace is doing a great job with Andre D. We need talent and muscle and someone who can get out there and demonstrate post play. Quite frankly, bigs don't learn from talking they learn from doing. Not sure if Miller gets that.

Thank you Pete Newell.

We won the rebound battle 40-39 so that wasn't the reason we got hammered. We lost because we couldn't score against their zone and when our guards drove the lane they either didn't convert or turned it over. A lot of those TOs turned into Louisville points. They also shot 45% to our 13% from 3 pt. range. Agree with you about front court players staying with their man and getting backed down. Tyler is our only big with beef and he has other issues. I actually thought Daniels had a pretty good game.
No way to put lipstick on this loss because it was bad. It is still only one game and no matter what happens in the AAC tournament we are going to the NCAAs and anything can happen. Well, a NCC championship isn't going to happen but depending upon matchups we could make it to the Sweet 16. There are really only a half dozen teams where we would be prohibitive underdogs. At this point I'd be happy making it that far.

Agree about Sweet 16, we should be able to find a way to get that far. Need a return of our shooting touch to make that possible.

Frankly (quite or otherwise) how much game result evidence do we need before the nayseers, who have been proclaiming for the past 2 years - all is ok when it comes to bigs development - for them to say no mas let's do something - status quo, quite frankly, ain't working.

Our front court was not very good when we won it in 2010, so this team has just as much chance, but it will require DD having a great tourney. He will be the difference maker.

Alex, Roscoe and even Chuck could all rebound. Lamb also had length at his position when we won in 2011.

granted, AO and Lamb both had great tourneys

Luckily there won't be a lot of deep teams in the tourney.

In fairness, you've been saying the same thing for years. Yet we won it all in 2011 and made a Final Four in 2009. And you were harping on it before then.

I think everyone knows our front court is very weak. I just disagree that it is Ollie's fault. He has had one year of recruiting and it was when there was a 24 year low in the faith of UCONN's being a major force.
I think we will be fine. It was a mess 2 years ago. It was tough at the beginning of last year when JC resigned and we had to quickly pick a coach and were banned from tournament play.
I think a lot has been done to stop the slide and turn things in the right direction. You seem to expect that we should be there already.

Herbst should show some balls and personally hire Vaughan back.
Lol pretty unlikely wouldn't you say

I am not clear on the evidence of front court improvement on the way. Hopefully, Amida develops. Has not made great improvement this year. I don't see the evidence. To me Nolan has been a disappointment as has Daniels.

True, even though a few of the players are the same there is no way in the world to compare these 2 teams. Lamb was not only a good shooter but he would intercept passes and grab rebounds all the time with those gadget arms of his. That team did not live and die with the 3 either although they could make them. Pitino's quote was "don't let them shoot the 3". We drove inside and turned over 12 times.

Brimah and Facey will be better but Lubin, I hope, will make a big difference. It will be progress, but not were we want to be yet. I think they are holding a scholarship, but for 2014, there is not be better than what we got. If in 2015 they don't bring in a big stud, I'll be complaining with you.
