I think I prefer Jones to Smith simply because I've personally seen alot more of Jones and like his upside. He seems to be pushing himself to complete his game focusing alot of attention on what many have perceived as his weaknesses.

Again neither are what our 15-17 roster needs, which are shooters. We dont need another stanley or marcus johnson. We need another j lamb or niels giffey.

Jones, especially recently has looked like he has the capability to be a good shooter. Remember, these are 16 or 17 year old kids right now and you can teach someone how to shoot. Jones's form is not ugly, with work I think he can be a very good shooter. Think about someone like Danny Green, if you watched him at UNC you would never say that he could turn into the shooter he's become with San Antonio.

Are we still recruiting Bennie Boatwright? He's 6'9" and this is what ESPN says about him: Boatwright is rangy wing-type with a prolific shooting touch. His shot is smooth especially off the catch and it's getting more consistent off the dribble. He has an ideal D-I frame and his athleticism is starting to emerge. His face-up skills are evolving as well. He can face-up his defender and up-fake him to get separation-usually finishing with a floater or mid-range pull-up.

Seriously? Donny could run the court extremely well but was never known as a tremendous leaper or an amazing athlete. Have to strongly disagree with you on this one.

He was an all state soccer player in highschool. Some people thought he had national team potential. Way more athletic than you are giving him credit for.

I like the authentic feel of eating at Pepe's, but I probably would take Modern's pie, all things being equal.
Yeah but if Modern's was 2'8 instead of 6'11 would you still consider it good?

Pizza House on Howe street is a real sleeper. Doesn't have quite the national ranking as Pepe's or modern but I love it for my program.

When I was at UConn, a buddy and I went to the field house and Donny was there playing pickup with a bunch of other players. He got in an argument with Sheffer (I think) about a call in their game and kicked the ball the length of the court on a frozen rope out of frustration. It ricocheted off the wall about 3 to 5 feet over our heads. Seemed like an excellent soccer player. ;)

Speaking of eating, how about those shark attacks.

Exactly,

I believe he won the Husky Run every year he was there.

I remember JC on more than one occasion raving about the shape he was always in.

Would a sharknado be considered a "death storm"?

I vote yes.

Fire Tornado...... add a shark in the funnel and then we have a triple threat option for the '15 recruiting class.

Yeah, it took a couple seconds to realize we were very close to getting crushed. Nothing a few dozen beers didnt take care of.

I know that the offer is still out there but I'm not really sure how active we are going after him. We don't seem to be, it seems our California attention has been towards Chance. Boatright seems like he will stay out West judging by recent visits/interest.

I'm with you on wanting a shooter in this class, but with that being said I feel like I'd prefer to replace DD as close as we can, and to me that 's Ray Smith. Derrick Jones is a close second because he plays really long despite his listed 6'6". Basically someone that can D up, drop the 3 on pick and rolls and play above the rim. Bennie Boatwright, while he's def got the shooting thing down on the wing, doesn't seem all that athletic to play face up on the inside against a big 3 or smaller 4 man. I haven't heard/seen anyone else so far that fits that mold we are recruiting besides those 3, perhaps someone could enlighten me if there are others?

Personally I'm enamored with Ray Smith for our needs, but Derrick Jones would be a great consolation prize.

We have 3 spots left, give me Smith, Enoch and Brunson

Three great options. I would be glad to have any one of them. My order:
1) Boatright (partly on the name factor)
2) Jones (athleticism)
3) Smith

I'm definitely not saying he wasn't a very good athlete, just not in the top 5 or so all time for the basketball program in my opinion. I thought calling him the best athlete in the basketball program's history was very lofty. I give him more credit for shtupping Pam Webber, but I digress.

Looks like a cross between Rudy Gay and Stix. Hope KO locks him up, dude has a ton of potential. He has all the physical tools.

I'd prefer a cross between Rudy Gay and Styx. We've never had anyone who could consistently sing power ballads above the rim.

People say this cross is really just a grand illusion and you're probably fooling yourself because he would be an angry young man and renegade but I think his future looks quite bright to me. I have too much time on my hands and looking through my crystal ball, I believe he is a blue collar man who will show us the best of times and while nothing ever goes as planned we will be rockin' the paradise at the grand finale.

If you managed to work Mr. Roboto into that, you'd have tied Maker's Muppet for creativity.
