From Val Ackerman's white paper which was recently submitted to the NCAA:

The demographic profile of attendees at WCBB games:
  • Females outnumber Males 56% to 44%
  • 53% are 30 and older (of which 30% are 60 and older)
  • 71% are Caucasian
  • 53% have completed college or graduate school
  • 70% earn less than $70k/year
In terms of games televised on ESPN2 during the past 4 years:
  • 62% are male
  • Strongest audience is men 55 years of age and older

Baby Boom in danger of losing its majority status -- slipped to 51%. Meanwhile, after getting challenged by Gen X & Y, the Silents have reestablished themselves as #2.

I've always heard it referred to as "the great generation."


"Greatest" is typically applied to the generation before (1901-24), since that was one that fought in WWII.

Those concieved during WWII are called "War Babies." I am a one of those, whereas my younger brother is a baby boomer.
