Boise State being discussed

Looks like they read these boards. Boise State is now under consideration. This would be a great move by the BE in addition to Air Force and Navy. Possibly Army, but I don't think they can really compete at this level.

Adding Boise State...just won't happen. Why would they want to. The travel for a lot of the games would be ridiculous in my opinion. It wouldn't even be close when they played any of us, save maybe WVU. That's if they played now. Everything could change at a moments notice.

What travel? What do people not get about 12 14 and 16 team leagues. you don't play the other division that much. if we went to the Big 12 as part of a 16 team league like some suggested that would mean we would go to Texas once every 8 years, Same for Okie and everyone else. it's not like you are going there every year. there would be two 6 team leagues for 5 games then maybe 2 or 3 from the other side. probably two to save on travel. Hell you dont even have to play the other side at all except for the championship game. there are lots of creative ways to do it to save on travel.

Boise didn't say anything. and if they want to say no to a BCS conference (albeit a weak one) they can just stop bitching about not getting a shot at th BCS title game and bowls. They arent going to be ranked in the top 15 every year.

I wonder if the Big East mentioning them made the Big 12 decide to do the obvious thing and invite them and BYU.

This Boise State thing really might happen. This would really help us make sure our BCS bid is safe. If Boise is saying they are willing to listen, they need to be formally offered ASAP. Maybe it would even be for the best if they are the first announced addition.
