OT: Bob Hurley Sr rocking UConn gear

And at away games, too.

He has a lot of ground to make up. He never sent us anyone.
I remember hearing that there was some kind of bad blood with Calhoun, but I don't remember the details (if I ever knew them.)

I heard the same thing. I also read that he had "UConn drills" at his practices.

What are "UConn drills"

Everyone gets on the baseline. Then a fairly large man of Irish decent pummels you for 30 seconds while randomly berating you. If you survive, you get a water break before running Suicides. If you fail, you have to do the Husky Drill. You even want to know what Husky Drill is.

They're both tough nosed Irish warriors. I could see it go either way but I'd have to imagine even if there was bad blood for some reason there isn't now.
I remember hearing the same thing, but I thought somebody mentioned the real reason was something like Bob Hurley thought him and Jim Calhoun had very similar personalities, and Bob felt that he already put his kids through boot camp at St Anthony’s the same way Calhoun would at UConn. Because of that, he felt his players would be better suited playing for a coach that did not have that same type of personality. I don’t know how true that even is, but I just remember reading that on here a while back when it was discussed.

I think it was an urban legend
