I remember hearing that there was some kind of bad blood with Calhoun, but I don't remember the details (if I ever knew them.)He has a lot of ground to make up. He never sent us anyone.

I remember hearing the same thing, but I thought somebody mentioned the real reason was something like Bob Hurley thought him and Jim Calhoun had very similar personalities, and Bob felt that he already put his kids through boot camp at St Anthony’s the same way Calhoun would at UConn. Because of that, he felt his players would be better suited playing for a coach that did not have that same type of personality. I don’t know how true that even is, but I just remember reading that on here a while back when it was discussed. They're both tough nosed Irish warriors. I could see it go either way but I'd have to imagine even if there was bad blood for some reason there isn't now.
I think it was an urban legendI remember hearing that there was some kind of bad blood with Calhoun, but I don't remember the details (if I ever knew them.)
Could be, but it does explain why we never picked up a kid from him.I think it was an urban legend
He didn't send us Danny. Danny like a lot of his players went to Seton Hall. Danny came on his own and dragged the old man along. Check it out. St. Anthony High School, Jersey City (NJ) Basketball Players - RealGMExcept his son
