sucks but at least its behind him in the rearview. If they make it to the tourney final and FSU is there as well he would be coming in just in time, with FSU's defense they need another ballhandler.

That means he will be available for the final game (hopefully championship game) in the battle for atlantis. Interesting time to insert a kid into his first game.

Well, the last time we had a freshman sit out for 6 games due to stupid NCAA violation, we won the National Championship.

F@ck it, let's do this.
Hell yeah. Thats the mindset I like to see.

What did John Wall get suspended for? I remember seeing here, someone said Wall had something paid for that was the equivalent of like $800 bucks and he got two games.

yeah i think 6 games is rediculous but since jc sat him out its 3 games instead of another 6 which would be absurd. wait they did count the 3 games he sat out as part of the suspension right?

yeah the 3 games we played count. So he has another three to sit out.

Rediculous punishment but at least we know when he'll be back. I was starting to worry that it might not be until the Big East season

If the exhibition games don't count as time served (and I'm not saying they should), then why couldn't he play in those games?

Ehh, with what's been going on at UConn with compliance and all, I'm sure they sat him out just to play it safe.

I'm happy for RB. He gets to go with the team to the Bahamas. It stinks when no one can give him any feedback about what is happening. Now he knows. Hopefully he doesn't get too far behind in his development. Good luck Ryan.

who was that?

Charlie Villanueva.
In 2003, freshman Charlie Villanueva was declared eligible to play following a six-game NCAA suspension. Villanueva worked out in front of NBA scouts in a Chicago gym in June of that year. Villanueva spent his own money ($600) to pay for the gym time. But the use of the gym was secured in advance with a credit card traced to NBA agent Dan Fagan.

Seems like a major penalty, but what can we do?? Maybe appeal and he plays while appeal pending. Worth the effort to appeal as we get into the season?? Probably not.

Let's get him ready with mucho practice time, and give him minutes in Atlantis tournament. Go Ryan!!

What would you rather have him do, sit out the next 3 games or by the time they go through an appeal have to sit 3 games in the middle of the Big East season? Take the 3 more games now and move on.

I agree that this is the practical approach, but it feels like Boatright is being punished more harshly than others with similar cases; maybe that's my UConn-tinted shades, but as UConnSwag11 mentioned earlier today, didn't John Wall have a similar case, and he was only suspended 2 games, including an exhibition? Boatright's punishment ends up being 2 exhibitions and 6 real games, compared to 1 and 1 for Wall.

Considering we don't know the specifics, isn't it kind of hard to say if it's harsh or not?
